RANKIN, Pa. -- The Allegheny County medical examiner's office said a 23-month-old Braddock girl found on Sunday in an abandoned playground near Pittsburgh died of exposure and hypothermia.

The office also ruled Nyia Miangel Page's death a homicide.

A searcher found the toddler's body wrapped in a blanket in a wooded area.

Pennsylvania State Police issued an Amber Alert several hours after the girl had been reported missing by her parents Saturday.

Searchers, braving bitter cold temperatures, spent most of Saturday and Sunday looking for the toddler in her neighborhood.

County police gave polygraph tests to three men who were inside Page's home on First Street on Saturday, but homicide detectives aren't saying what the exams showed.

Police have not identified a suspect. So far, no charges have been filed.

Nyia's father, William Page, was arrested on Monday in a unrelated case to his daughter's death. Page was arrested on four counts including indecent assault on a minor.

Page is being held on $200,000 bond at the Allegheny County Jail.

The assaults reportedly took play Friday night into Saturday morning, the same time Nyia was reported missing.
