Champagne lifestyle on a beer income... guilty as charged here. But we are finally catching up. It's just about living within your means.. Brialee 02-06-2007, 12:11 PM Nope, it's part of being American! We're fighting the battle too Becca 02-06-2007, 12:19 PM Yup! Champagne lifestyle on a beer income... guilty as charged here. Us too. We're treading water, but not really advancing towards the shore...but we have a plan that we implemented in January, and that's a start :) So far so good this year! sgmwife1 02-06-2007, 12:20 PM Your not wrong. CC debt is a huge epidemic. I have been successful waging the war on debt with financial peace university. www.daveramsey.com (http://www.daveramsey.com) :D Jen 02-06-2007, 12:47 PM Us too. We're doing better now that I'm making more money peatys girl 02-06-2007, 02:01 PM You're not alone. We're working on it. Little by little. It will be better if I get this job I'm trying to get. DakotaCowgirl 02-06-2007, 02:17 PM We are working on it...but it is getting to the point i don't know what to do. I can't wait for our last tax form so we can get this one cc paid off. *Dawn* 02-06-2007, 02:18 PM we're there right with you! VinnysGirl 02-06-2007, 02:24 PM It's an uphill battle!!!!! That's for sure!!!! DakotaCowgirl 02-06-2007, 03:57 PM I justkeep thinking...one day. Shaky 02-06-2007, 07:42 PM You are not alone. We started working on this since right before we got married and THANK GOD! we just have one CC left to pay off and that's going down completly when dh leave for deployment this summer. Kells 02-06-2007, 07:52 PM i dont know if any of you know about this, hell i only found out a few weeks ago. Theres an act called the Sailors & Soldiers Act. If your husband is deployed the credit card companies have to lower your interest rate to 6%. and if he has been gone for a few months already they have to go back and re-adjust, so if you dont owe that much theres a good chance the whole bill will get cancelled out. Dragonfly76 02-06-2007, 10:52 PM We're working on it also. Trouble started when I was an 18 year old college student, I was walking by one of those freaking stands offering the free gift. Damn the free gift! Why did I need the free gift!?! Oh well, life lesson learned. Credit cards suck in general unless you can pay them off right away. We're getting closer to getting rid of most of them this year...at least that's the plan. Pebbles 02-07-2007, 04:53 PM We have one credit card that we're working on paying off. Shep's Wife 02-07-2007, 05:00 PM I think that there is a lot of people fighting the CC trap! Your are most definitly not alone. MSJackson 02-07-2007, 05:10 PM We only have one left to pay off with a balance of $1200. So we are doing good for now. We plan on using one of the cards to go home for Christmas this year, so we'll be dealing with the debt all over again next year. elegant emily 02-07-2007, 06:49 PM I always pay mine off right away. |
