i sent in the papers on monday, how will i know when its set up and everything? :confused

i got cards... but i have never used them. just use my ID when i need to be seen off base. did you put down choices for a primary dr? if anything you can call tricare on the 1st and they can tell you who you were assigned to.

you should be able to get those. just call on the 1st to verify that that is what they have so you dont get stuck with bills. KWIM?

I constantly have to show the kids cards at thier civilian pedi.. but I've never had to show mine anywhere.

We are AF. We not have to show our ID card plus the yellow card. Make sure you contact the first.

I didnt get any cards except for my dental card...the other Dr's I just have to show my ID and tell them DH's last 4.

I have had Tricare my whole life and when we first signed up at the physician we just showed the ID card once. For Tricare (and doctors offices know this, at least in Utah), that our Military ID is our ID card for insurance. So, they accept it. At the ER we do have to show ID card every time just to prove it's us. So, hope that helps anybody out.

The only time I've showed my Tricare Prime insurance card, was when we saw a civilian marital/family therapist. Ethan and I are both seen at the base clinic or local MTF.

i used my insurance card last year when i had to go to the hospital in my home town. we were home for christmas and i got dehydrated. don't know if i really needed to show my card or not, but whatever.
