What do you use? I live in an apartment and there are some older stains. I want to try and get the carpet to look nicer, what do you recommend?

For stains I use the Woolite P.O.D! It is like the magic eraser for carpets!!! LOL! Other than that I use shampoo once a month...

we bought our own steam machine. i use that every 2 weeks and then have a little green machine for smaller stuff.

Ok, I'm poor and don't have a steam cleaner. So I would take some liquid laundry detergent and mix it with warm water and scrub it. Also, Dawn has recommended Folex which I absolutely love. Good luck!

We have our own steam cleaner and the Kirby, which shampoos carpets as well.

One of the carpet cleaner places here recommends tide. They use it and it gets everything out. I couldn't believe it!

We have a steam cleaner and try to clean the carpets once a month. For little stains here and there, we use one of the Resolve products.

We have a steam cleaner and I mix a scoop of oxy-clean with the soap. it works well.

For spot cleaning we use Woolite Oxy, and for the really tough ones we'll pretreat with that and then use the steamcleaner. Woolite Oxy is awesome :yes
