Anyone ever get contractions this early? If so, did you/your doctor do to stop them or what helped to make them stop?

Bex 02-23-2007, 01:43 PM at 28 weeks, they will stop them are you maybe dehydrated? could they be braxton hicks? and if you're having contractions, you should be calling the doctor ;) JoyS 02-23-2007, 01:46 PM My BH started REALLY early but when I was 28-30 weeks with both the boys I went in and they had to stop my contractions. Eat something small and drinks 3 6-8 ounce glasses of water while laying down and then you should be good. If that doesn't help get up and walk around a bit and if that still doesn't do anything I would be going into Labor and Delivery. Ste9 02-23-2007, 01:47 PM If they are painful or closer than every 10 minutes then you should call. If they are just a tightening sensation then they are probably BH. Also if things just don't seem "right" you should call or go in. If they are BH they won't stop them. If they are "real" ctx then they will stop them this early ~Jess~ 02-23-2007, 01:55 PM I had some with ella when I was around 27-28wks. I wasn't feeling them but the dr saw when I was being monitored b/c she wasn't moving. They put me on pills to take and it made them stop. dollface 02-23-2007, 01:57 PM They started out as tightening and then I felt pressure and pain with it ... exactly 7 minutes apart last night. I drank a TON of water and took it easy. They aren't as regular now but I am still feeling tightening and a bit crampy. I never experienced this with my first two so its unfamiliar territory. I HATE going to hospital but don't want to neglect something serious. I called, left tons of messages for the appointment line and the nurse but no response yet. I plan on leaving work early to go to the hospital but I just wanted to see what to expect. I remember contractions early on with my first...but they were very strong and it was clear...lol. They gave me some meds I think but can't remember (lol that was 13 years ago!!). Anyway...thanks for the feedback. Frankie Lee 02-23-2007, 03:37 PM I have had some BH and some tightening because I wasn't hydrated! mrskmw 02-23-2007, 04:53 PM They started out as tightening and then I felt pressure and pain with it ... exactly 7 minutes apart last night. It's funny you mention this because I have been feeling the same thing for the last two days. I called my dr and they told me to just keep an eye on how far apart they are and if anything happens or I feel that they are getting worse they will have me come in, if not I have to go in for my regular apt on Monday. It's been really worrying me. jairoo04 02-23-2007, 05:08 PM I had BH starting around that time. The first day or so I was very concerned because I didnt know what it was. I went into L&D since it was night time. But try relaxing and drinking ALOT because sometimes you might be a little dehydrated. Good luck at the doctor's. I hope everything is fine. Donna 02-23-2007, 05:45 PM i went into early labor with Savannah and Gabe at 27 weeks. I was given shots of terbutiline(sp) and put on the oral meds. |
