I had my second biopsy yesterday. The Dr said the last pap came back with high grade displaycia. The last year, I had one biopsy and probably a handful of paps and they all came back with low grade mild displaycia. She told me that I have to be treated ASAP. I'm 26 and I don't have any children yet. I really want at least one though. DB and I have discussed this and will probably TTC shortly after he gets back from deployment. The dr is concerned about doing a LEEP or any other kind of surgical procedure since I haven't had any kids yet. She said that there are risks involved that could make pregnancy difficult or impossible. I dunno. I was just wondering if any of you have had this procedure done and then had an ok pregnancy. TIA!!!

I don't know anything about LEEP. I was able to carry Ethan full-term w/o having ANY problems what-so-ever after having a colpo performed.

I had cryo surgery when I was 17 and I have had 2 babys since then.
But I have dysplaisia again and they want to do leep this time around. When
I had the cryo surgery done the said they usally will do cryo because it wont effect me later on if were to get pregnant. Maybe you can talk to your docter about cryo surgery instead.

Im used to be a coder for a Gyn clinic and, I seen alot of girls go in for LEEPS & Clopo's. for dysplasia in the past and had pregnancy after ward all they are really are testing the issue of your cervix and checking how high risk you are. And other thiings like cervical cancer.

I had a LEEP prior to getting pregnant with Taniyah due to high grade dysplasia (I had cancer in situ so the step right below cancer). I had trouble getting pregnant with her but I think it was due to the Depo that I had taken after having Makkiah. It really messed my cycle up and made my luteal phase really short. That has nothing to do with the cervix itself. The funny thing is that before I had the LEEP done my babies were born at 35,35 and 37 weeks. After I had the LEEP done I went all the way to 39 weeks when they induced me because I was 5cm dialated.

With the LEEP all they are doing is removing the abnormal area on the cervix. They will put some stuff on the cervix that makes the abnormal area turn a whitish color and they use a looped tool to "cut" the area out. That is then sent to the lab to make sure that there are "clear margins" meaning they want to make sure that they got all of the abnormal cells.

Thanks so much ladies!!! :hugs It just kinda freaked me out when the dr said that there could be repercussions as far as pregnancy. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed and that everything will be ok in the long run.
