My grandma had lung cancer and didn't smoke either.

I used to. I smoked for 5 years and quit almost 5 years ago.

I feel like smoking is the most selfish thing someone can do.I think it's killing yourself without regard for your loved ones. (IMO!!) DF dipped every once in awhile, but hasn't in a few months. I gave him a printout from a medical website on how bad chewing tobacco is, he didn't know any of that stuff(which I think is ignorant as all hell), and stopped right away.

No. John does chew. When we met he smoked and chewed. He has since quit smoking but can't seem to be able to quit chewing. He tried when I was pg with Johnny but he picked smoking back up again. The smell of the cigs makes me sick so I told him if he had to do one then please just chew. He does want to eventually quit though.

Until you've been addicated to smoking then don't say things like that. I started before anyone knew how bad it was. I've quit more then a few times. But this time I'm hoping it will stick. It's a horribly addicating habit. And until you've been there adn done that you can't say that everyone who smokes are just selfish people.

i only smoke when i'm stressed out of my mind, which wasn't that much, but since DB left, I've smoked a little bit more...But i always think about that 7 seconds out of your life if you smoke (something i heard on CNN years ago), so when i smoke, i stress about dying 7 seconds earlier. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I'm weird.

We both do. We're both trying to quit. I'm down to 1/2 pack a day. I don't know how DH is doing, but he asked me to send him some commit lozenges. That's a good sign!

DH dips like a fiend.. But I really don't mind, I will still kiss him when he has a dip in his mouth.. When we were dating, I can remember him falling asleep with dips in his mouth.. But he says since he's been deployed, he quit..

I dont smoke. I have terrible breathing anyway since i have asthma and the smell of smoke gives me a headache. I'm glad MA made it illegal to smoke in any public place.
