View Full Version : how messy is your DH?
resless_me 03-03-2007, 05:10 AM im so nervous about this move, to Germany... Weve only lived together at his parents house...and at times he could be messy...but i have OCD, and have to have everything spotless or i get anal...
What sloppy bad habbits did your SO have when you guys moved in together?
were they hard to break?
Pebbles 03-03-2007, 01:58 PM Eh, he was just messy in general. He was a bachelor living it up in Kauai :neener.
He's not like that anymore. I guess my anal cleaning ways rubbed off on him.
MontanaSweetie 03-03-2007, 02:20 PM Pffft, we've been married for almost 7 years and my DH is still messy! He takes something out and never puts it back. He takes off his clothes and just leaves them strewn around the room. Its so frustrating!
CassieR1202 03-03-2007, 02:26 PM Well my man is a slob.... And hunny I mean slob! Since I was put on besrest he has been a little better about it because he knows I can't run after him and clean it up.
Teresa 03-03-2007, 02:29 PM Mine isn't too messy. It is the taking things out and not putting them back or not helping me clean house that I don't like.
Ellen 03-03-2007, 02:53 PM Kevin isn't messy, he just doesn't like to put things away......
Maria406 03-03-2007, 02:59 PM Maybe try to have a talk with him if you can? like a serious talk, if it's really gonna bother you. Otherwise, it might just be one of those things you get when you move in together
Jennie 03-03-2007, 03:00 PM The thing that Dh does that drives me the craziest is he opens doors and doesn't close them. Cabinents, closets, front doors, everything. It drives me insane. Other than that, he's messy in general, but I am too soo, not really the biggest deal there.
HEIDI 03-03-2007, 04:50 PM I am married to Mr Clean.... I never have to worry about him and a mess.
MichelleB 03-03-2007, 04:52 PM Where do I start? He thinks he is really clean.... :rofl
VinnysGirl 03-03-2007, 04:58 PM Mine is sloppy, but not messy necessarily. He'll clean up messes, but he'll leave his clothes wherever he takes them off, leave dishes, cups, bowls whatever on the computer desk, doesn't shut drawers, leaves lights on all the time, shoes everywhere so I think he's more cluttered than anything. I'm constantly going behind him to pick things up and it bugs the crap out of me. I even make comments to him about it and he doesn't do anything unless I bug bug bug him.
Nikki_D 03-03-2007, 06:36 PM DH isn't too messy. He does leave lights on constantly though, and when he gets home from work (when he's home) he'll drop his uniform on the floor in our room. When he's deployed I get spoiled cause I get to keep the house very clean, then when he's on home port I feel like Im constanly tryi to keep the house cleaned up. It's not as bad now because he knows that besides a full time job like him, I'm also working on my bachelor degree so school is keeping me very busy.
Kristin 03-03-2007, 07:45 PM He's not a slob but he's not as clean as I'd like him to be, I'm also OCD, so basically what he thinks is clean to him is messy to me :teehee
**Liz** 03-04-2007, 08:04 AM When we first got married, I was under the impression he was a clean freak. This was based on the fact that whenever he came over to my apartment, he was always cleaning it. It drove me up the wall...then we got married and the truth came out. He's not a slob by any means, he will help, it's just that he gets lazy and doesn't really pay attention to the details. I found out later from his Mom that the neat freak was an act, that in high school his room was the messiest of the 3 brothers' rooms and she just shut his door to block it out lol.
MelissaMc424 03-04-2007, 09:07 AM My husband and I joke about him having a slight case of OCD, and about how he's anal retentive about the house.. He's OVERLY organized, which took some time to get used to, but really is a great thing. Stuff is always in the same place, and is very easy to find.
His mother said he was even like that as a small child. All his stuffed animals had to be in a certain order, and the boy never lost a lego... LOL..
gotstabemel 03-13-2007, 10:40 PM DH isn't that bad. Only with clothes. When we eat.. it usually takes a while for us to clean it up. I am happy that I married a clean guy lol
