Found out the sex of your baby before you had it? I'm curious DB and I were discussing the pros and cons of the whole thing. I tend to think that I will want to wait and have it be a real surprise...but he wants to know so that he can "mentally prepare" if we have a girl! lol no he says planning will just be so much easier. So I was just curious what you girls think and what you did!

We did.. it makes things much easier, because DH and I both like to plan things.

I have found out with all 3 of mine and have always been glad I did. Mainly just because I'm nosey and cant stand not knowing but it does help it you want to pick a theme for your stuff that isnt neutral before hand. I think it's all a matter of personal preference but I've always found out :)

We found out with the first four although one of the ultrasounds was wrong. DH was right everytime though. This time we are keeping it a suprise. Our babies don't go in their own room for a long time so we will have plenty of time to pant and decorate after the birth. They have lots of cute neutral colored clothes and such.

We found out with both. I don't like suprises and it makes it ten times easier to shop for boy stuff or girl stuff. I loved finding out with all my babies. I like calling Landen by his name in my belly then it or baby.

We found out the sex with both our kiddos. Was alot easier. Especially to plan and prepare for the baby. Also you can get gender specific clothes and cute things.

We found out both times and are glad we did. It made it easier to shop for, plan for etc. Course we still had names picked out for both sexes just in case

We did with both..but DD#1's ultrasound was WRONG even up to the day I delivered. They kept saying Boy...when she was delivered we were in SHOCK. Luckily I did the nursery in all greens and yellows. DD#2 was right on the money..even her delivery date.

when I was prego. I did find out it was a girl.
It made it alot easier to get ready for things, and it helps out people who wants to get you gifts a TON. :)
It made it alot harder when I lost her, but I'd do it the same way now.

We weren't going to, then when it came down to it, we were so anxious we HAD to know...9 months is a long time to wait for something. Especially when most of us are so tired of waiting for our hubby's to be home.

We did because my husband really wanted to know. I left him up to decide if we were going to find out because the u/s was one appointment he was actually able to come to.

When we were pregnant I was dead set against finding out but now the more I think about it I think I will want to know. The whole needing a baby shower I don't want everything in green and yellow. Plus I won't be working so I know we will want to buy things in advance so I want the chance to personalize.

We didn't find out with Eian...we wanted the total suprise. I still had a good time shopping though because to me not knowing was more fun cause then I looked at everything, boy and girl stuff. With this one we are going to find out (although the u/s's aren't always right), we had our suprise and now I want to know with this one :):)

We found out with all 3. With Breanna she was our first so I wanted to know since we had nothing. We ended up getting alot of gender neutral things so we could use them over anyways though. With Johnny we found out cause we already had a girl and wanted to know if that time we were having a boy and needed to get boy clothes. With this one we found out cause I couldn't wait. John wanted to know, I initially didn't. When I was on the table thingy and John asked the u/s tech if she knew the sex she looked at me and asked if I wanted to know. It was too much and I buckled so without hesitation I nodded yes. It was nice knowing with each one cause I feel I identify with them more when I know the sex. I call them by their name instead of calling them it.

I can't speak on your behalf as to what you should do. So I will say go with your heart. If you really don't want to know and have it be a surprise then go with that. Since he does want to know I would sit down and talk with him so you both can hopefully get on the same page (Good luck with that. I could never get John to understand or see why I wanted to wait). Oh, I just remembered something, not sure if someone else had said this yet or not, but maybe the u/s tech could let him know and not you (that is if he can keep it a secret) or give you the results in a sealed envelope so if you change your mind later you could still know. Good Luck.

My DH was the one that wanted to know, and I could have waited. But since he was underway at the time I found out for him. I was glad we did, we were able to finally decide on a name. We were having a tough time with finding a name for a boy that we both liked.

I had my kids in BC and it was very hard to find out.
I didn't with my first two, but with my last I did.
But in order to do I had to drive over 45 mins.
I loved learning beforehand that I was finally having a daughter. I felt like I could talk to her more, be more personal with her.

We found out with both of our boys. Robert didn't want to find out with Nikolai but I couldn't wait...I am the type that has to know. He says that with the third one we will not find out but I know that it would drive me absolutley up a wall going 10 months without knowing.

We definitely did!!!
I wanted a certain color of furniture for a girl and for a boy. For a boy, I like cherry/dark wood and for a girl I like white. Also, I like gender specific bedding. :)

[QUOTE=chelsea<3josh;797067]one of the ultra sounds was wrong!! :wow :wow were you guys super surprised when the baby was born?!?![/QUOTE

It's actually kind of funny. With our first son (child #2) the ultrasounds (I had multiple ones that said girl) were all wrong but DH said all along that it was a boy. He said he didn't care what the ultrasound said, he knew somehow that they were wrong (he also got HORRIBLE morning sickness and couldn't be in the kitchen when I cooked cause it made him naseous. He also knew before I did that I was pregnant. It's really WIERD). He has been right every single time!

With Taniyah the ultrasound said girl, as did DH but since #2 I've always been a bit leary of the u/s. Well after I had her they kept asking us what "his" name was. They had even written "Baby Boy Elmore" on the bands :inshock Once I finally realized what they were asking I said "Is it really a boy?" Nobody had even looked :lmao For some reason the nurse thought we said that it was a BOY and no one had even looked to see what SHE was! I have bands where they marked out boy and wrote girl above it :lmao

with Meghan, she was surprise in the beginning so I had to find out. But for my next one, I don't want to find out until I have the baby.
