hmm I wonder why/ Maybe she hasn't recognized the feeling for it yet or its a little scarier then peeing.

that was our biggest challenge with z. she'd pee on the potty like a champ, but put her on to poop and she'd sit there and scream like you were physically torturing her. we ultimately got her to poop with bribery and a sticker chart. i read in an article about potty training that sometimes #2 in the potty scares them, as it's such a different sensation.

good luck!!

:yeehaw Oh yes...joy of joys! SO much fun! :lol Bet you can't wait to potty train Gabby!

She squats on the floor like she would squat on the potty.....:rolleyes

Yeah, I am trying bribery. We have a box of Skittles for when she goes poop on the potty. Trip to the Zoo if she goes a week without pooping in her underwear.

I hope that works. That is how my brother stopped going in the night time

why not try some sort of reward system. like if you go poopy in the potty you get something out of this special treasure box. make the box only abailable after she goes poopy in the potty and let her pick out what she wants to put in there.

I hope she gets the hang of it soon. Lily decided she was done with diapers when she was 20 months but wouldn't poop in the potty. she was 3 1/2 before it wasn't a problem anymore. After trying all the stuff the "experts" advise I finally told her if she did it again I'd spank her. She did it again, I spanked her. she decided to go poop in the toilet after that. I knew for her it was just a matter of wills. I wanted her to and she didn't want to. I think deep down shes a true redhead.

myson was doing great until we brought his baby brother home. Then he hit a slump where he wouldnt go because he didnt want ot miss anything while he was in there. But he was fine by the time he was 3. He was like 2 when he started peeing in the potty but it wasnt til he was 3 that he was completely potty trained.

We're having the same problem at my house...peeing is going perfectly, pooping is still in his pants...I don't get it, I'd think it would feel pretty disgusting to poop in your pants. UGH...well, what can you do...good luck!

We're having the same problem here too. She goes to the potty when she has to pee or she'll tell me she has to go, but she doesn't go when she has to poop nor does she say anything until AFTER she has done so.

Good Luck!

Sorry that you are having this problem Jen. I'll tell you what my Mom does but people will probably think that it's cruel to do it. It seems to work well though and I understand the reasoning behind it.

When she has kids who poop in their pants (just want to clarify here that I am not talking about babies but kids who either a)pee on the potty fine or b)have for whatever reason regressed and stopped pooping in the potty. When she gives them a shower afterwards to clean them up she does not give them a nice warm shower. She has a showerhead with the hose and she uses that with cool water to wash them off. Her reasoning is that she does not want to "reward" them for pooping in their pants by giving them a nice warm shower afterwards.

After I read what your mom used to do, my daughter comes up to me and tells me she went poop in her panties! UGH!!! I must find a way to get her poop in the potty instead of her panties..

We're in potty training hell, as well :lol Jaxon trained soooooo easily. Shelby, not so easy :nutts She is a smart little cookie and she KNOWS when she goes or needs to go. She just hates being put on the toilet. We're working on it but I feel your pain!
