Do any of you have a specific routine you follow each day/week cleaning wize?
IE bathrooms on tuesday, bedrooms on wednesday, family room thurdsay
If so, has it helped? Was it very hard to get used to?

I'm a clean freak :screwy. I clean our place every day. The whole nine yards:mopping all the floors, clean the whole bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming.

Yeah I'm nutso :shake.

I used to at our old place.. laundry day was Monday.. did all the laundry.. Then Tuesday I cleaned the entire downstairs.. (living room, kitchen, dining room and 1/2 bath) Wed I cleaned the upstairs.. 1 bath and our master bedroom.. We never used the guest room for anything so it always stayed clean.

Once a week, probably on Thurs or Friday, I swept and mopped the whole place (it was all tile, and I HATED it!)

Now I just do what needs to be done when I feel like doing it.. harder for me to keep to a schedule now that DD's here!

lol it explains some things :tease I tried to do it, but even when I sweep and mop every day i get burned out and irritated because the floors never look clean..and my deep cleaning never gets done, so I am trying to get a regular routine even for my deep cleaning.

I'd love to have the time to do that... too much work/classes/homework.. & i dont think my family would appreciate me running the vacuum/laundry in the middle of the nite :teehee

:yes It's the only way I can keep the house clean and not be stressed about missing something. I have a calendar each month and M-F I have certain jobs that I need to get done. That way I don't spend ALL DAY doing housework, and I don't have to stress over any of it because it'll all get done by the end of the week. It works really well for me.

Becca, how much time do you end up spending cleaning every day?

I usually end up cleaning everything alittle each day. the kids have a hard time NOT messing things up!

For me it's an everyday job. The second I clean something the kids mess it up or it needs to be cleaned again. My kids are old enough that I make them help with housework. Laundry is everyday also.

I always clean and do laundry on Sundays, but I tidy up throughout the week. I don't know why, it's always been like that.

I clean just about every day. I wish I had a plan where I only did certain things on certain days. That may not make me feel like all I do is clean and do laundry. If anyone want to share their schedule that would be great.:D

LOL, I'll share mine, it works so far. I do clean up everywhere every day(basically jsut picking up or diffusing any major messes) but major cleaning for each room is once a week.

Monday- towels kitchen sweep

Tuesday- whites/lights cat room dust

Wednesday- med/darks family room sweep

Thursday- misc. laundry bedroom windows

Friday- sheets main bath sweep & mop

Saturday- uniforms office balcony

I do one load of laundry a day, one room gets targeted for the day(organize, rearrange, etc.) and I do one regular chore each day.

Tues- vac/mop clean off counters, wash windows
Wed- vac/mop clean off counters do tubs clean baseboards
Thurs vac/mop clean off counters clean up outside do toliets and dust

Sat/Sun I'm usually not here so I try to vac/mop at least once and monday is more or less a bigger job depending on who was here during the weekend

Thanks, I think I am going to try doing the one load of laundry a day. Now I do it all on one day and I feel like I do it all day and night. Thanks for the advice.:D

no prob! Plus my husband knows that this is the laundry schedule and if he wants something washed at a different time, he has to do the entire load himself.

I try to keep up with everything around here, so I dont get swamped! I do it all, so that is why I try to do something everyday...
