Ok, so I have been wanting a Kitchenaid stand mixer for years. I finally got one this last Christmas and I was soooo happy to get it. It is sitting on the counter and I have not used it once! :duh

Lol make something anything you can with it. My DH has been wanting on for a long time so when we got it the first thing he said was I want to make something for dinner that we need to use it for lol. So we went out and bought stuff to make dessert... he was one happy guy. :giggle

we always made homemade mashed potatoes (or mashed sweet potatoes), we used it for cookie dough to make chocolate chip cookies, etc etc

What about an angel food cake? They are pretty low in fat :) You can serve it with strawberries and sugar free cool whip and you'll be getting a treat without all the sugar. There may even be a recipe out there for a sugar free angel food cake ;) Or, you can use Splenda instead of sugar. We do that all the time :goodvibes

sweet potatoes are good for you, they have a lot of good vitamins and whatnot in them. as for healthier things, do some of those quick breads that you just pop into a loaf pan after mixing all the ingredients together. or do something like banana bread muffins but with i can't believe its not butter

Melissa thats exactly why I get kitchen aid stuff! Its lasts forever! my mom had her mixer for over 20 years. She used it at least once a week though. Finally the low speeds went out.


I love the heck out of mine. Its what I learned to bake with and when I moved out and didn't have one I was so lost.

I make artichoke/spinach dip in all the time, as well as other cream cheese based dips, and make whipped cream (we make it with half and half, splenda and a couple drops of vanilla to cut out some calories and sugar), I even use it when I make eggs, and use the whisk attachment, makes for some super fluffy omelets! :yes People think I am crazy cause I use it daily, but hey, all you have to clean is the bowl and attachment, just like cleaning a regular bowl and wooden spoon if you are to do it by hand! :five Have fun!!!

I've wanted one forever and my husband always tells me I don't need one. I told him when he deployed I would get one but I haven't yet. I keep thinking of where it would go since our counter space is limited and we don't have a lot of room in the cabinets for it. Plus, I don't know what I'd make with it.

I can't wait to get one!!! I was just looking at them the other day trying to figure out what color I'd want! My dad has one that he uses all the time. He has this one attachement that he uses to grate (is that right?) cheese. It works so good and fast, I hate grating cheese by hand!
