Something very formal for that type of event

er...how formal can you be at 3pm?
I really don't want to come underdressed, but don't want to overdo it either.

I don't have any pictures (on the computer) of what I wore to Allen's commissioning at OCS. I wore a dressy black tank dress with heels, and a sweater tied around my shoulders. It's a formal ceremony, but not formal wear...more like church attire but a little dressier. Does that make sense?

Thank you for the pictures! He sent me pictures of the last two May commissioning ceremonies, and people were dressed like... slightly-casual Sunday wear.

I think I have a perfect dress though, based on the pictures y'all posted.
It's black with a white design on it and a red sash... it's kind of a deep V but I have a red cami I can wear under it that matches the sash almost perfectly. I don't have a picture but I'll take one in a bit!
I need to get some shoes though... I think like the ones that are like flip-flop style sandles, but nice and with a heel.
