I was just wondering if family can live with their SO while they are at AIT?

my db made a comment about family living with them while they are AIT. I thought AIT was like boot camp????

some AIT's allow family to live with them. It must be a 6 month AIT(according to my husband ARMY-wise), and even then it still depends. It only qualifies if they have a spouse and children too.

yeah, he's in the army and we were thinking about getting married over memorial day weekend.. but then i said, where will i live? and he said, you can come back and live here...and i said, but i didn't think family could live at AIT..and he said no, i think they can....
so i was just wondering.

HE would ahve to get his page 2 amended, get you added to DEERS, etc and tehn would be eligible for BAH. My husband does not believe AIT families can live in base housing though.

yeah i figured that out. so i'll wait a little bit longer to get married. HAHAHAHA. I don't think I would just get married like that anyways--and i'm pretty sure since he will be done in July we won't be able to live with him!

This is straight from hubby's orders (he's Army): AIT must be 20 weeks or longer for dependants to be eligible for base housing.
