View Full Version : When did you pick out names for your baby?
NavyChiefs_Wife 03-30-2007, 05:34 PM When did everyone pick out names for their baby? Did you wait until you knew what you were having or did you have a boy and girl name picked out a head of time? DH and I picked out our names when I was a couple months along with Sydney, mainly because he was deploying. We haven't even begun to discuss names with this baby, I think about it but that's about it.
CassieR1202 03-30-2007, 05:36 PM We picked ours out before we knew what we were having. The middle named changed for DS but the first name stayed the same. I still am waiting on my little girl... one day!!! Good luck with picking yours. Do you have a feeling one way or the other? Are you leaning towards any gender specific names??
*Crystal* 03-30-2007, 05:37 PM We picked names when we were preggo with DD before we knew her sex!! We picked both names! With this baby, the boy name is still the same and we chose a girl name before we even talked about getting pregnant again!
NavyChiefs_Wife 03-30-2007, 05:38 PM Right now I'm just trying to come up with a name for a boy and girl. I want something different but I haven't been able to find anything that I really like. I really like the name London for a boy but I don't know how DH would feel about it.
*Melissa* 03-30-2007, 05:56 PM We picked out names as soon as we found out we were pregnant :)
allypooh 03-30-2007, 06:10 PM we picked out names before she was born...but during the last month the names changed and we had to compromise on the name...we both went through the baby book away from each other- came up with a list, and only one name was on both lists, spelt the same way, and so thats how our daughter was named. Her middle was something agreed on the moment we found out i was pregnant!
Traci 03-30-2007, 06:30 PM With my DD we planed on naming her Katie Jessica but after I had her DH I reversed it to Jessica Katie. My DH is named Jesse. With my DS at the ultrasound when we were told it was a boy DH said we were going to name him Thomas Donald after both of our Dad's. We both love using family names.
Caimbrie 03-30-2007, 08:09 PM I already have a girl name picked if I finally have a girl. We talk about names right away usually.
Donna 03-30-2007, 08:12 PM Savannah's we knew within days of my u/s saying she was a girl. Gabe we didnt know till we were filling out his birth certificate paperwork. Chris, I was about 8 months when we decided. This one..... it changes weekly at the moment.
Kaymara 03-30-2007, 08:16 PM at 7 weeks preg with Ethan we chose a girl and boy name
at 18 weeks preg with Ashley we also chose a girl and boy name
mary79 03-30-2007, 08:22 PM We picked them out when I got pregnant.
MontanaSweetie 03-30-2007, 08:25 PM We picked out a boy's and girls name when I was 3 months pregnant and we never changed our minds about the names.
My husband had a girl name picked out when we got married so when our first was a girl, it was already set.
With our second, uh... that took forever. We have very different tastes in names and we went back and forth on boy and girl names.
With this one, I basically said it's this and said, ok!:giggle
PatsGirl317 03-30-2007, 08:33 PM Haha we're not even married & we have our first son's name picked out (after his father who passed when we were in 7th grade) I've had a couple ideas of girls names picked out since high school tho lol. We're weird & fight over how we're gonna raise our unborn children already haha
Callie 03-30-2007, 11:50 PM We already had a boys name picked out a long time ago, and we had talked about our girl's name but were dead set on it until I got pregnant.
harrisonsdream 03-30-2007, 11:55 PM we'll probably have a boy name picked out for our first just in case he leaves. if it is a girl we already know the name, for our first girl at least.
We haven't discussed names yet. We picked Taniyah's name at around 32-33 weeks I think
BLBnJVB3 03-31-2007, 12:16 AM I was 5-6 months when we came up with Breanna's name. Before I even got pg the 2nd time we had Johnny's name. And this time has taken a bit longer. We had a name when I was 6 months but a few weeks ago John started to say he wasn't liking it anymore. About 1 1/2 weeks ago we decided on keeping Zachary and changing Ryan to Aaron (still haven't decided on how we want it spelled). I'm now 34 weeks and I swear if he changes his mind again I'm revoking his naming privileges and the baby will be named Evan Nicholas. :lol
Amber V 03-31-2007, 03:27 AM As it turns out all of our kids had their names well in advance of their conception. We chose the names for our eldest 2 when we were still in High school. Alexis (Lexi) Ranae for our 1st dd and Jesse David (JD) Jr. for our first ds. Sarah Katherine was chosen after we found out my Grandma had cancer (Katherine was her first name) about 4 months before she surprised us. With ds and our youngest dd we also chose names in case they were the opposite gender once we found out we were pregnant.
Ashnbri 03-31-2007, 03:48 PM We had our girl names picked out even before we were married...but we didn't have our boy's name until we found out...lol We had alot of problems with the boys name it was hard for us to decide.
Bailey was named right after we found out she was a girl, Zandir we picked at around 12 weeks, and Landin I named when he was a day old.
7 months pregnant with ds we knew his name (had one for a girl too cause we didnt know what he was).
This one I had her name picked out YEARS ago! :lovestruck
Erika 03-31-2007, 10:55 PM We had a named picked out with this one when I was around 11/12 weeks. It's a girl name because I just think it's a girl. If I turn out to be wrong I'll think of a boy name then, lol. I've done this with all of my kids. I just knew what I was having and what their names were going to be.
