I made biscuits from scratch yesterday and they are like fluffy clouds of heaven. :bliss
I've been eating them with Topher's mom's homemade strawberry jam... I guess I'll have to learn how to make jam sooner or later. :eat

Next week when I go to visit Topher I'm going to whip up a double batch for him and his two roomies. They are all biscuit whores, so they'll love it.

I'm used to doing bisquick mix biscuits, but from scratch was so much yummier.
They were pretty easy too! And fast! By the time the oven was preheated, I was ready to pop them in.

You might want to give it a try someday. :)

I love baking! I love to make biscuits! I would love to try your recipe! They sound devine!

I need a good recipe! I made bread today, my husband would worship me if I made biscuits.

OK Ladies, you asked for it!

2 cups flour
1 Tbsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp sugar

Combine all that

Then cut in 1/3 cup shortening until it's all crumbly and good

Then stir in 1 cup of milk until it's all sticky.

Turn onto a generously floured surface (with floured hands) and knead about 20 times, adding more flour as necessary. Roll out to 1 inch, cut (don't twist your cutter whatever you do!)

Bake at 425 for about 13 minutes or until they're turning slightly brownish around the edges.

Serve with butter and fresh preserves or jam. mmmmm.

PS I made a TRIPLE batch this weekend... they turned out heavenly again. T and his roomies (and me) are all enjoying them.
