Here's the situation...











When dh gets home we're going to try to conceive. According to my cycle, I should be ovulating the day before or the day of homecoming. Because he's on a sub, we have a somewhat planned schedule and I know that if I get preggo on the first shot, the due date would be Jan. 3. He would be getting home only 2 weeks or so before then and I'm scared he'd miss another birth. (I had my son at 36 weeks, 2 days). But I'm not going to go on the pill again. Would you wear a condom for those 4 or 5 days even though it's homecoming sex....or some other form of bc, just to make sure you dont' get preggo those first few days?? Did I lose anyone, I know...I think I confused myself. What would you do?

Anyone use that vaginal film stuff? Is it effective? We haven't used condoms in well....since High school so I know dh is gonna hate it, but I REALLY don't want to go through another birth without him

Since you want him to be there for the birth. I say use some type of protection... Good Luck girl:D

what happens if you get pregnant and his deployment gets extended??? He'd miss it anyway. I say if you two have decided to ttc, why not try right away. You may go full term and he'll be back in Plenty of time...you may not get pregnant the first try either....

Do you think that you could get an IUD or something before dh comes home?? Sponge?? Diaphram?? lol

I would like to get preggo in May, not April so the due date was a little later to ensure he'd be home for the birth so I dont' want to do any MAJOR bc

I used the film for a bit, and it was quite effective.
I would go with the film (or some other spermicide).

thanks, I think I'll try that just to make sure I dont' get pregnant on the first shot....it would seriously break my husband's heart if he missed another birth.

I would try anyway. A million things could happen both good and bad. I have learned to not depend on the military's schedual. But if you really set on waiting to another time I would use something. My second was a deployment baby. He got me on the first shot!:lol

Honestly, I wouldnt use anything. Who is to say for sure that even if you dont get preggo till May that he will still be here. We had it all planned out with Chris. If Gabe wouldnt have gotten sick, I would have had Chris without DH here. despite all our planning our due date.

i would use some form of protection.
