Maybe it's just me but I absolutely can't stand trade school commericals, from Maric, UEI, Coleman, hmm whats the other one that comes on during Springer? They are soo cheesy and fake and make it look soo easy to get a job after you finish but fail to mention that you will spend a fortune there and by the time you graduate laws change and your licenses are pretty much useless unless you want to work in a nursing home. :no

When i was working at Maric, I hated when i would be sitting at home watching tv and a commerical would come on. DH would joke...."you better get to work, the phones are going to be ringing!" i feel your pain though

:yes :no I don't doubt it at all. I took their PCAT course. WASTE of money. By the time I graduated the state of California passed the law that there needs to be more RN's on hospital floors then CNA's and PCATS are looked at just as low as a CNA. :reallymad But do you think Maric told anyone this? Ohh no. Gosh forbid.

they try to get everytone to go PCAT, unless there is a CNA or MA class coming up. the only ones they get to do CNA are those that are going to go fo LVN. i loved the people that i worked with, but i couldnt be an admissions rep.

Vocational schools aren't that bad ;). My best friend graduated from Maric and she is currently working as an RN at Sharp Hospital and doing fantastic. My sister graduate from UEI and is currently a Pharmacy Technician and doing great also. Its all about how you work the system in your favor :)

Oh yea totally, dh was one of those that got the shaft when it came to trade schools, because we were not told some vital information....you CANNOT transfer units from trade schools to state/city schools! The good thing was that he only completed a little less than half the program and was able to get out before he got too far, the bad thing, we now owe 7,000$ in loans for classes that he had to take over again at the school here in SAn Diego anyway because they were non-transferable. He was pissed when he met with the counselor at Miramar college and was told none of the classes he took took in LA were transferable, he basically wasted 6 months of work. So even though I'm glad he came here when he did, still a pain in the ass that eventually we'll have to 'give' the state all that money for classes he never was able to use.
