Which one was harder you & your SO: when he had to leave for his deployment or when he had to leave after R & R.

I'm looking forward to R & R but then again I'm dreading it because I know he will just have to leave again & once again I will be a big baby.

the first time when he left. Matt didn't get R and R.

Deployment. Our R&R was in the middle of the deployment so it was a nice refresher. It didn't make the deployment feel so long.

I hated the leaving after the R & R it was like him leaving me all over again...but then again he doesn't have as long this time....

I don't know.. they were both about the same... I think the R&R was a lot more public, I don't like the whole airport goodbye thing..

deployment......when he came home from R&R, he'd been gone the majority of the time. I knew I could hadnle 3-4 more months of time since I'd already done over 8 months!

deployment was deff harder for me! he wont get r&r but when hes home for leave for a couple weeks at a time its easier saying bye because i know im gonna see him again in a month or so. 7 months was hard to deal with-still is

To me R&R was a lot easier then when he actually left. Everyone is different though.

well he hasn't been home for R&R yet. He will have been gone 9 months by the time he comes home for that. I think since he will have a short amount of time left after that saying goodbye after R&R wont be as bad.

Last deployment he didn't get to come home for R&R.

Yea we will be about the same. He comes home after 9 months. I was hoping that will make it easier.
