PatsGirl317 04-07-2007, 07:10 PM Hey hun!! Welcome to SOS! I'm a Marine gf, Pat is stationed in MCAS Cherry Point, NC & I'm still in CT for school, I totally feel you on the separation thing. Thats too bad you couldnt get on his orders for Oki (I'm assuming bc of his rank or y'all werent quite married in time to get on the orders)... but the seps pay is always a plus! I have a few friends that are in your situation rite now bc of their DH's rank... know that ur not alone in all this hun. PM me if you ever feel like chatting!!
chelsea<3josh 04-07-2007, 07:33 PM Welcome to SOS. I'm a Marine GF and my DB is in Iraq right now, so I too know how it is being apart! There is lots of support here you will quickly become addicted! Let me know if you need anything I'm always around! :hugs
Mrs Brown 04-08-2007, 12:20 AM wowi didn't expect to see that so many people cared... i really appreciated it. in response to the question... he is a lance corporal and is on an unaccompanied tour... we got engaged in october planning a wedding in June... but a week later he got orders to go to Japan, they told us that even if we got married i wouldn't be allowed to accompany but he would only have to be gone 6 months to a year. well we got married a week before he left in November 18. then he went off to japan, when he got there they told him oh no you have to be here 2 years just like everybody else... now the last 6 months have been spent with guys of all different ranks telling him that he can get me over if he applies and agrees to spend 3 years after i come over in japan.. which is just fine. but the other half tells him that they will never let me over. so him being a man doesn't see the point in even trying and getting shot down. while i feel like it can't hurt to at least try. but i get to see him for the first time in 6 months since we have been married in 12 days!!!! Whoopee!!!I have been doing lots of shopping :) anyone been to Okinawa around Camp Kinser or Foster and know of anything exciting to do... he is taking the first 2 weeks that i am there off so we can just explore the island. thanks everyone its exciting to have girls who understnad to talk to.
mama_of_3 04-08-2007, 12:47 AM :Welflash to SOS...everyone is very supportive here.
