I was just wondering how long it took everyone to get orders. DH has applied for 7 different sets of orders and hasn't gotten any, it's getting very discouraging. His orders now are up in August so the time is coming fast. He is good at his job and is the #1 second class in his command so we just don't get why he hasn't been selected for anything. Is it normal for it to take this long?

My dh applied for several sets and got denied up to the last minute. Good luck to you.

Yep it is normal. Nowadays you have to apply for the orders, then it is discussed with the potential command and they put in their inputs with CMS then the detailor closes it out, reviews the applications and inputs and then decides who gets what orders. This is why it takes so long now to find out what orders you got if any. It is now once a month..like the new orders come out on the evening of the 10th and then by the end of the first week of May it is told who got what

Has he talked to his detailer?

We applied like 4 times, before we got orders! We even got denied a certain squadron that hes going to!! Why they did that I have no idea!

It makes me feel better to know he's not the only one that has happened to. He's going to talk to hid detailer sometime this week. Thanks :)

We just got our orders today. DH put in for them about 3 weeks ago.
