For homeowners...
About how long did it take for you to close on your house? We are on a pretty tight schedule of getting our house and getting moved in. We'll be working with our Realtor next week but I was hoping to get an idea now. I'm so worried that it's going to take longer than expected but I'll be crossing my fingers. TIA

We closed in about 1 month and a half but only cause we all agreed on waiting that long. It was in the middle of christmas and we all decided to wait till after christmas to close. It only took about 2 days to put an offer and the offer to come back with all the details.

It's really going to depend on how smoothly things go and how open to working with your needs the seller/realtors are. It can be done as quickly as 10 days-2 weeks or take a month or even more. Are the parties involved aware of your time crunch? Do you think that the seller would be open to a rental situation while you wait for the closing to actually take place? It can be an option if all parties are in agreement.

Thanks for the response. The sellers are actually letting us do the whole rental thing until we close on the 15th! :whew It has made it a lot easier on us!

What a blessing to have understanding/accomodating sellers. We were also lucky enough to have that arrangement work out as we were on a horribly tight schedule (luckily, so were the sellers) so it worked out for all parties. We actually ended up renting for two months prior to closing.

Oh, lets see here......We found the house July 4th weekend. And by the 3rd week of August we had closed. So that was about 5-6 weeks. It was then another 30 days before we got possession.
