Once I get to the gate do I just say why I'm there, show some ID, and go in?

Keep in mind that we're not married yet so I'd only have my license as ID. DF already put me on the list.

Yes. Have a drivers licence, registration, proof of insurance, and you should just get a pass.
If it's a big homecoming, they'll be ready at the gates.

My regular DL worked just fine when I did it before we were married.. I just had to know his name and flight number at the ticket counter. They gave me a gate pass.. It worked at MSP, and ATL..

Lol, I love reading your homecoing posts because it totally answers the same questions I have!! OMG, we should totally meet up in Norfolk before the guys get back, like the day before for lunch or manis or something!! It'd be cool to actually know someone even if it's just one person because I'm going to homecoming alone and to be honest I'm a little scared of all the madness that will be going on!!

I won't be down there until about 6-8pm on May 25th. Maybe we could meet sometime around then. I only kind of know the area around ODU and the base. But yeah, that would be cool.

To get a pass, your boyfriend has to put your name on the guest list.

I am pretty sure you will have to go to the pass and ID office (should be somewhere right outside the gates) and show them all your information..ID, proof in ins. etc and then tell them you are here for the ship whatever it's name is..and htey will give you a day pass to put in your windshield. That makes sense to me,.
