How many were grew up army and are now married/dating it?

My dad was in the Army and now I am a Military girlfriend. I kind of always had a thing for military guys because I remember being around them and they were always so nice to me. When i was old enough to notice I thought they were really kind of cute.

I put it just happened. I did live in a military town (Air Force) but that is not how I met my DH. My Grandfather was in the Navy but when my dad was young. I just happened to meet my DH one night.

I was never around anything military what so ever. I met dh in high school and he told me from then on he was going to be in the Marines. I just came to accept it I guess. It was definetly a learning experience!

I clicked the first one, though you really need an other button... My dad (both my biological and adopted) were Army however they were both out before I was born. However, I am very proud of both of them. My grandpas all fought in World War II. Two were Marines and two in the Army. Now I am married to a Sailor :teehee

Not a military brat! I would have loved to be though, and traveled and such.

All of my grandparents were in the military and my uncles, but no one in my immediate family.

:lmao thats exactly how my military marriage happened

originally, DH wanted to go into the marines with his best friend, but I tried to talk him out of it.....He said he had always kind of wanted to join the Navy ever since he was like 8, so I decided to accept it, and here I am

My stepdad was in the military, and I grew up on a base. My grandfather was a Major in the Air Force, so my whole life, I have been around the military.

Yeah I guess what I was trying to see if the amount of exposure to the military influences what you are attracted to. I think even if you weren't alive during a family members' service I think it still affects (e?) you because of the pride you have in your father/grandfather and the person he is because he served. Its actually something my DB asked me about one day as far as attraction to Military men.

My Dad was AF for a little while. My Pepaw retired after 35 years AF. I sort of grew up in a military town, but not really. I didn't come along till after my Dad left the AF. He was in an officers ROTC program, but dropped it for school. So I dunno.. it's a weird affiliation, but not an AF brat. LOL!!!

I met DH in high school and he decided to go into the Navy... so it just kind of happened... my older cousin and I always said we wouldn't marry anyone in the military and she's married to an Airman and I'm married to a Sailor... funny how life works out...

DH and I are both air force brats. we met while i was a freshman and he was a sophmore in high school. i moved that summer to germany and we kept in touch. started a long distance relationship when I got to college and got married after my freshman year.

i joke all the time with him. he saw first hand how good the AF has it. "what possessed you to join the navy?" LMAO

I grew up with my daddy, who is an Army Vet. But he wasn't actively in when I was around... I dunno, does that count? I said brat = SO 'cause it was the closest to the truth. 'Course I went from Army to Navy... oh that always makes the discussions fun.

My grandpa was an Army veteran of WWII. I was very close to him till he passed. I would go everywhere with him and listen to all of his stories. We would go to base every week to do the grocery shopping but I never really felt atracted or paid any atention to men in uniform. It wasn't really a military "life style" For me everything related with military would just make me think of my grandpa. Now I'm married to a sailor.

I grew up in a base town (Jacksonville, Florida). Both my grandfather's served in WW2, but neither of them stayed in the military as a career.

My father was in the reserves before and my 2 grandfathers were drafted and one died in Gallipoli. So most men in my family, actually, all men in my family have at one stage, served with the Australian army.

However, as that all happened before i was born, I have never classed my family as a military family.
