Hello...my name is melinda and I'm 20 years old. I'm completely new to this so I'm not entirely sure how this all works. I'm just trying to find someone to talk to and relate I guess.

I am a Navy girlfriend, my boyfriend is 23 and has been serving for 3 years. We haven't been together that long, 3 months in two weeks to be exact, but he is very important to me. I don't know very much about the military and I'm trying to learn more about it everyday.

He has left for FEX this week and this is the first time we have been apart since we met. He will be leaving to Kuwait in August.

I don't know if this is the right place for me to be, I have read through many of these threads and all of you women are so incredibly strong and supportive of your husbands. I'm almost embarassed to be posting here since I have been with my bf for such a short time. It's just I know being away from him will be hard and I just want to know there is a place were I can go to find some understanding I guess.

Welcome! There is no better way to learn than to plunge right in. Ask questions, post as much as possible, let people get to know you. There is no woman too small for these boards, I've found. Women here have men deployed, active duty, retired, medically discharged, used to date a guy once who was in once... You'll find pretty much anything you need if you're willing to look!
