View Full Version : To all that have been pregnant....
EmeraldEyes 04-18-2007, 06:43 PM Think back to some of the comments from either strangers, friends or family. What would you say were the meanest/weirdest/nicest things said to you?? Kind of an informal poll...
My hairstylist said to me today, after I told her I was due in late july "wow, she must be a biiiig baby". I have a sense of humor, so I shot back " no, I was fat before I got preggo!!"
Jennie 04-18-2007, 06:46 PM My friend told me yesterday "You've gotten fat"
A lady I haven't seen in over a year told me a couple weeks ago "Your boobs are bigger"
My aunt said my belly looked gross because it's pierced.
My grandmother asked if the doctor told me not to drink. I told her no, that's common sense and I already knew that.
Amber V 04-18-2007, 06:47 PM "Are you having tiwns?" when I was 7 months preggo with my last baby.
"You are past due?" with my first.
Traci 04-18-2007, 06:48 PM About a month after I lost a baby a girl I worked with said "I didn't know you were pregnant again." I thought that was mean.
trtnavywife 04-18-2007, 06:49 PM I had people all the time tell me that I didn't even look pregnant:mad And that was when I was 8 months preggo
When my second was a girl, "Do you feel bad you can't give your husband a son?"
Then there was living in Japan and being nine months pregnant and every other Japanese wife asking me "Are you having 2 or 3 babies?"
:rolleyes
Traci 04-18-2007, 06:51 PM I had people all the time tell me that I didn't even look pregnant:mad And that was when I was 8 months preggo
Yeah I didn't look pregnant at all. I was about 130. Some people have no class. if you don't know keep your mouth shut. Unless a person says they are pregnant(even if the look it) I won't say a thing.
jjsmainsqueeze 04-18-2007, 06:51 PM When I was 5 months pregnant with DD one of my SIL's said wow you got fat in your hips and ass... :( I bawled for a week
trtnavywife 04-18-2007, 06:56 PM Yeah I didn't look pregnant at all. I was about 130. Some people have no class. if you don't know keep your mouth shut. Unless a person says they are pregnant(even if the look it) I won't say a thing.
:no I know what ya mean. I couldn't help it that I ate and ate and never got over 130 either:teehee Sorry didn't mean to t/j :)
bunkie 04-18-2007, 07:36 PM Someone grabbed my belly and said "I love pregnant bellies" I looked him right in the face and said "I'm not pregnant."
And when someone made a fat comment I'd look at them and say "whats your excuse?"
chelsea<3josh 04-18-2007, 07:39 PM When my second was a girl, "Do you feel bad you can't give your husband a son?"
Then there was living in Japan and being nine months pregnant and every other Japanese wife asking me "Are you having 2 or 3 babies?"
:rolleyes
how rude!!! they are the ones that "decide" the sex anyway!! :rolleyes
Berkley 04-18-2007, 07:41 PM Old women used to cuss out my mom for having a daughter with such "loose morals" I was 20 but I looked about 15
Shep's Wife 04-18-2007, 07:44 PM I think for us the rudest thing has been when poeple ask if we where 'trying for a boy', because we have 4 girls.
Like our girls are not good enough we had to keep trying for that boy :no
My mom said she couldnt believe how big I was and that my stomach was gonna be one big stretch mark :suspect :mad
luvmysailor81904 04-18-2007, 07:46 PM "Oh my gosh you must be SO uncomfortable!"
:rolleyes
Berkley 04-18-2007, 07:47 PM My mom said she couldnt believe how big I was and that my stomach was gonna be one big stretch mark :suspect :mad
HA mine is! Seriously it looks like I am part zebra..LOL
Traci 04-18-2007, 07:57 PM :voodoo :club
I can't stand people who make those kind of comments. It's so RUDE!!
Rachael 04-18-2007, 07:58 PM when this old lady asked me how far a long I was and I said 4 months, she was like "you are as big as I was at 9 months"
:lol
Thank you! #^@#^
EmeraldEyes 04-18-2007, 08:01 PM My mom told me that she was talking to her cousin the other day and she brought up my baby shower coming up. Her cousin said "she's 34, she has a husband and career, she doesn't deserve a shower. " apparently showers are only for "young" mothers.:screwy
SIMMYBABEZ 04-18-2007, 08:03 PM Um my nanna disowned me! Dh is a latino - and nanna didn't want any "half breeds" in her family. Well even if that was the case, that makes no sense- she adopted and aboriginal child and he was v. dark.
But the worst- was when i was miscarrying, my nurse said- oh well, your too young to have a baby anyway, your "fiance" is in the war, so even if you wern't miscarrying, you might end up being a single mother. Then she continued with- but if you miscarry, that's a good thing- you are too young and you would miss out on too much having a child. A child is not a toy, you are still playing with toys.
That broke my heart. Then i had to go in again cos they thought i needed a DNC so i happened to get that cunt again and she said- wow back already!?! And im like yeah, i miscarried. And she said- oh I could have told you that when you got the blood work back, the hormone levels were too low- so it's no suprise really. Atleast your free.
She said other things too- but what i've already is told is bad enough and i did NOT deserve that.
She broke the needle in my arm when she was doing the blood work the second time around, and i had hugeeeee bruises from the first time around and i felt like slapping her chops in.
I was told i could have sued her for the way she talked to me, but I didn't know what to do really. It was a tough time.
The best thing was,
When i found out, i walked out and told mum and she was so happy for me! She rang and told everyone she was going to be a grandmother. She was so happy and proud. And dad was stoked too.
As for the nurse and my nanna, well they can both fuck themselves. That nurse WILL burn in hell. She happened to mention that she hadn't had a date in 9 years, well no surprise there.
footstepswife 04-18-2007, 08:05 PM My favorite is--pregnant with #4---Aren't you done yet? Do you own a TV?
Do they all have the same dad?
HuskerFan 04-18-2007, 08:51 PM I had someone ask me when I was due....AFTER I had already had her. Poor DH nearly had to hold me back!
My grandma told me my hips werent wide enough to have a baby.
footstepswife 04-18-2007, 08:53 PM OH, I thought of another one--WOW, your ass has goten huge? From a lady in the Commissary--I didn't even know her. :dunno crazy comments
Victoria 04-19-2007, 06:30 AM The best comment was when I was at the NEX with Bryan. Some random gals goes, "You are the CUTEST pregnant girl I have EVER seen!!!!!" I think my face turned BRIGHT red. It was a great compliment but there were so many people around so I got a lot of stares...LOL!!!
Not while I was preggo, but at the Post Office the postal worker asked me if Ethan was mine and if I was old enough to be his mom....HAHA!!!!
kittycat915 04-19-2007, 07:14 AM with my last pregnancy, people would say how much i glowed!! they thought it was so cute. my friends however, always talked about how big my boobs were!! they were biggest with this last pregnancy, if only they stayed!!!:tears :tears
Ollie 04-19-2007, 07:49 AM When I got pregnant with my 2nd son my Grandmother said What are you going to do with another baby. I was like what the hell. where are the congrats.
sgmwife1 04-19-2007, 07:58 AM I was only 17 when I was had DD. One day my dad took me to my dr's appointment ( he was 58 at the time....58) and some lady actually thought he was my HUSBAND. YIKES:nutts .
Bobbi 04-19-2007, 09:14 AM people would give me dirty looks and i would get arnt you a little young. i was 24
i also got i was begaining to wonder if you were even really pregnant! cause i didnt really show until i was 8 months.
Germanchick 04-19-2007, 09:28 AM Nver really got any comments aside from people not believing that I was as far along as I was.
I_Love_my_marine 04-19-2007, 11:08 AM Someone asked my DH, You do know how babies are made and then proceeded to tell him he needed to fix the problem!
Caimbrie 04-19-2007, 11:12 AM When I was almost full term with my third some random woman at the store said I was huge.
When I was pregnant for my second.. because I look young a woman in the mall restroom told me that I disgusted her because I was another teen mom. I wasn't even in my teens :lol I told her "yup that's right.. I'm only 15 and this is actually my SECOND baby!"
harrisonsdream 04-19-2007, 11:19 AM :rofl sarah you're great
Ashnbri 04-19-2007, 11:38 AM My grandma's BF told me that he wished we would have waited longer...
We have been together for almost 4 years and married for 2...how much longer does he want us to wait?
It also hurt me feelings whenever I would tell anyone that we were having a boy they would always say "your husband must be really excited" as if he wouldn't be if it were a girl..I always tell them well we thought it was a girl and he was really excited about that as well.
Some old guy at the grocery store told me that I was too big to be due in may...but then I will have some other people tell me that I am small and am I feeding the baby enough.
allypooh 04-19-2007, 11:40 AM its been two since i gave birth to my daughter...i haven't lost all the weight but i'm not completely FAT...so when i see my friends from high school (well, they aren't really my friends just people i know)...they will say
"wow, we heard you were going to have a baby. When are you due?"
and i'll say "yeah, she's two now"
this has happened more than once...about four times!!!!!!!
