My hospital provided everything for the baby. So for them I only packed a homecoming outfit
picture outfit
babybook (for footprints and such)

For me...My hospital provided alot. With Ethan I overpacked. With Ash I had a great amount
robe
slippers
socks
calling card (my hospital doesnt allow cellphone use)
phone list
toiletries like toothpaste and such
nursing bras
breast pads
outfit to come home in
and that is pretty much it. I used their nightgowns and their pads/diaper things. Figured why get my stuff bloody...
ETA digital camera and extra batteries duhh :lol

Plus anything I had forgotten, if I needed Hubby could bring it

Lip gloss so you can feel pretty when you're done :) (You will, of course, already BE beautiful, but my friend Lisa felt hideous when she had her bebe, so I bought her some lip gloss and all was well)

I packed:

Going home outfit for me
Going home outfit for baby (one in preemie and one in newborn size, because you never know if the pea is going to fit in newborn clothes)
extra socks
hair scrunchies
toothpaste and toothbrush
magazines
camera
batteries for camera
journal and pen
list of contacts and other important numbers
blanket for baby
diapers for baby (although everytime I've been in the hospital they've provided those, as well as pacifiers)

Really that's pretty much all I packed when I had Cadence. With Kat I had nothing, she was preemie and I got sent to the hospital straight from a doc appointment, lol.
I plan on packing the same with this one, since I'm having her at the same place I had Cadence. I know they provide all the pads and lovely mesh undies for me, as well as a gown and other toiletries. So I don't really need to take any from home.

All of the above and also don't forget your baby book so your doctor can sign it and you can have your baby's foot prints put in it. I also took tucks pads, those are AWESOME if you have to have an episiotomy, line them up and down your pad and AHHHHH.

hard candies for DH and I
cash for DH to hit the vending machines
chapstick

VERY GOOD IDEAS!!! :thumbsup
Chapstick and peppermints were a life saver for me towards the end of myh labor! :yes
And the money for vending machines is a GREAT idea I didn't think of... My water broke 3.5 weeks early so I was not completely ready with everything. Good thing my Mom was there and had change and all for my exDH...

I have packed my bag and Jessica's bag and it is sitting by the door! I agree with everything these ladies have said! I took the baby book and announcements to fill out when I wasn't doing anything else! I also brought some playing cards, extra change for the vending machines, the video camera, and a CD that DH and I have made for the birth!

Wow. I am an overpacker so I pretty much packed it all. I was also in alot longer than mosst. 6 weeks with them trying to stop pre-term labor. I had my bad and it had PJ's, socks, underware a robe and all personal hygene stuff. For the baby I had a packed diaper bag. In it I had several outfits. one-sies just diaper bag stuff in general.
