How old was your baby the first time you left he/she with someone other than your SO? I mean like grandparents, aunts, uncle, etc.. How long were you gone?

How long were you gone? Lilithdrff 04-19-2007, 02:37 PM My parents watched our oldest a few times when she was around 5 weeks old (for like an hour or two). I would trust my mom and step dad with a newborn though, no one else. Our youngest, probably not until around 4 months, for an hour or two, with DH's oldest sister (who is great with kids). I don't leave my children with anyone other than immediate family now (my parents, DH's oldest sister, and in extreme occasions DH's mom - she just can't be trusted for longer than an hour or two though). Edited to add: Our oldest did have a baby sitter from the time she was 3 months old, but she was being watched by my step-dad's mom. Then when she was around 10 months old she went to another sitter, but it was someone whom we had known for 15+ years. She would watch her while I was at work, no more than 8 hours a day. Becca 04-19-2007, 02:37 PM When Paige was 6 weeks my mom came out to visit and DH and I went to dinner. It felt really wierd :lol MelissaMc424 04-19-2007, 02:38 PM DD was 8 months old when we left her overnight for the first and only time. DH and I went out and stayed at a spa suite for our 5th anniversary... We left DD with my dad and stepmom. allypooh 04-19-2007, 02:40 PM i am able to leave my dd in may for one night, it will be the first in two years since i've left her with someone overnight, and it will be with her grandparents... she is two and i've never left her overnight. it's going to be weird....hahaha. but i'm ready! bunkie 04-19-2007, 02:41 PM Emily was 8 months, it was for a few hours with my granny when she came to visit. Dh and I went on a date. Natalie was almost 8 months. Again with grandparents here visiting though. We live far from family so its rare they are away from me. Kat 04-19-2007, 02:45 PM He was 3 months. We went to a movie and I called my mom like 100 times. :lol *~*Cori*~* 04-19-2007, 02:45 PM Jerron was 4 months old when my parents came down to Jax and we went to Disney for a day and a half... it was for my 21st b-day. Jill 04-19-2007, 02:56 PM He was a week old and my sister watched him sleep when I ran to walmart. When he was about 6 weeks she watched him for the whole day while I was on the ship with dh for family day. He was 18 months old when we left him for an over night. Victoria 04-19-2007, 03:02 PM Ethan was about a week old when we left him at home with my mom so that Bryan and I could handle the DEERS and Tricare stuff. I can count a total of less than 10 times when I've left Ethan alone with friends... Bex 04-19-2007, 03:06 PM left her with family for a few hours... a week or so... left her with someone NON family... 6 weeks (daycare) define 04-19-2007, 03:47 PM The first time we left her with someone was when she was less than a month and we had to go to the ball. We were only gone for a few hours. Other than that, she's only been with one of my friends once when I was going to do something other than school. Kristin 04-19-2007, 04:40 PM I left Ethan overnight when he was 4 months old for the first time so ex h and I could go out with some friends and that was with my parents and I was a wreck, I didn't even have a good time, I bawled my eyes out. I never left Elizabeth until she was 2 and that was also with my parents when we moved back from Texas I left Emilee when she was a few weeks old with my inlaws and SIL and was totally ok with it just for a few hours, I didn't leave her overnight until she was about 6 months old. |
