View Full Version : "pet" names for pets
Miss B Hav'n 04-22-2007, 10:48 PM Do you have pet/nicknames for your furkids? How about middle names?
This evening I was talking to one of the kitties. DH was in another room and called in, "Who are you talking to - we don't have a cat named Mo...at least we better not have a cat named Mo or you have some 'splainin to do" (:hehe ) I realized then that I had been calling Kazi "MoMo" - see, one of his nicknames has become Kazi-moto (play off of Quasimodo and a running joke we have about naming pets military-moto names). Somehow it has morphed to where his name, or at least one of them, is now MoMo. DH claims I am going to give all of them identity crisises as each has their "real" name, a middle name (so they know when they are in trouble - like kids, lol - hey, it works!!) and then an assortment of nicknames.
inmansgirl06 04-22-2007, 11:05 PM Haha our goldens name is Dozer, but i always find myself calling him hoezer..i dont know why but I do. Im still in the habbit of callin our other puppy Spook, puppy. haha its such a bad habit. The DH says he will never learn his really name unless i stop callin him puppy!
leftover 04-22-2007, 11:09 PM My sister has a 20 pound calico cat named Sugar... when she starting gaining weight I started calling her Fatty-fat-fat..
It stuck, and now that's her name.. Fatty..
It's weird how people have nicknames for their pets..

i agree!!! and whats even weirder is that my dog responds to his nicknames just as well as he responds to his real name! :dunno
celise 04-22-2007, 11:12 PM Haha me and Df have two babies (kitties). Their Real names are Gracie and Tinkerbell. But we found ourselves calling the first Grace for short at first... but now thats practically all we say! And the other we call her Tink-Tink, or just Tink. Haha... feel crazy sometimes, but their my girls, we wont be having kids for a long time !:teehee

Kelsey 04-22-2007, 11:27 PM :lol Funny you should ask......
Our cat, Rigby has many names:
The Rigz, Riggles, Riggly-puff, Riggle-piggle, Riggleskins, Rigz-Pigz, Riggledy-Piggledy...we mostly just call him "Rigz" though. :D :wub
Miss B Hav'n 04-22-2007, 11:35 PM The funniest thing that has happend as far as names is with our kitty Peaches. It is tradition that all our pets get middle names. One day, a month or two after we got her, I realized we had yet to give her a middle name (nothing "fit" with Peaches I guess). I mentioned this to DH and DS, who overheard it, piped up with, "She does too have a middle name. You always call her Peaches Dammit" :inshock :lol The funny/sad thing is it was true. She was in a serious naughty stage and it seemed I was always saying it:duh
VinnysGirl 04-23-2007, 12:21 AM Sophie has a couple of "pet" names. We mostly call her Sophie and every once in a while I'll call her Sooof or something like that with a long "o". Dh calls her widdle baby... yes just like that... just like a kid that can't make his "L" sound! LOL!!
I call her "little girl" sometimes and also "sweetheart"... and then when she makes me mad I'll call her doofus! LOL!! Or her name followed by some choice words! HAHA!!
She doesn't have a middle name. We should figure one out for her! HAHA!!
fridayheather 04-23-2007, 12:23 AM I have 2 dogs: Murphy and Mitzie. So Murphy is Murphy Smurf or Murphy Smurfy or just Smurfy. Mitzie is my old dog, she's got tons of nicknames: Mitzie Bits, Mootzie Boots, Moots, Mitz, Shitzie (if we are pissed at her :giggle). Our two cats are Little Kitty and Boo, Little Kitty is Itty Kitty or Ski Cat
kiwijus 04-23-2007, 12:31 AM We have Sphinx, Slay, and Fluffer-nutter for cats, and Viszla is our dog.
I call Sphinx, Finx. That's an obvious derivitive. Slay I call Lyndsay, because of some girl who tried to move in between me and DH in tech school. This cat will not let me pet her for the most part, but she'll sidle up to DH and just GAZE at him, and then every time I talk to him she meows. Bitch, lol. Fluffer-nutter was named after the sandwich because his colors match, lol. We call him Fluff, or Baby. He's a longhair, and the youngest, so he's DH's favorite.
The dog we call Visz or puppy. She's MY baby, and she's spoiled like one too! lol
sdshorty 04-23-2007, 12:47 AM Yes!
My hamster Bella, I call her Monkey, because she is my acrobatic hamster
