there was an attack that killed 9 soldiers on a small military partrol base in diyala province. This province is in Baghdad. They haven't released names or units yet so I am flipping out. Matt is on one of those small patrol bases outside of the main FOB in baghdad. I want to puke right now. Logically the chances of it being him are pretty slim BUT I am just so freaking traumatised from when my friends husband died I can't help but be scared. I am not at home either so if it was my husband the army wouldn't know where to find me. :nutts I feel so sick. I haven't heard from him in a while now, he didn't even call on dd's birthday. :tears

My thoughts and prayers are with you. I hope you get a call or email from your husband soon, I'm so sorry.

Please let someone from the command know how to get into contact with you. I was friends with a lady in Hawaii, and she was the CO's wife of a battalion. There was a soldier that was killed, and they couldn't locate the wife anywhere, and she had to find the young girl's landlord to open the house and she searched through all of her personal things in order to figure out where she could possibly be. Then, they had to notify the CACO office closest to where she was, to notify her. It took them about 4-5 days to do all of this. It was quite devastating.

I also just read it was guys from Ft. Bragg. My cousin is airborne we hope to god it wasn't him. Prayers to the Ft. Bragg families :(

Thanks for the support girls. I am going home tomorrow. Besides the command has their heads so far up their asses they wouldn't be bothered to note I was out of town anyway.

I'm sorry girl. The reason Matt may have not called is because they are on lock down. Apparently not every family has been notified, so usually, until everyone has been- the soldiers don't have phone access, just so they can't accidently leak it before every family knows.

I hope everything turns out ok :hugs
