Associated Press
SOUTHLAKE — A suburban Fort Worth elementary school was evacuated today after a fourth-grader brought a hand grenade to school.
The grenade brought to Old Union Elementary School in Southlake still had the pin in it but appeared to be inactive, said Carroll school district spokeswoman Julie Thannum.
However, faculty, staff and 530 students were moved to a nearby church while authorities and a bomb squad were called. They remained on the scene Tuesday morning.
No other details were immediately available
