The mayor of New Orleans stated that thier city is cleaner then philadelphia since Katrina! how dare he! Ok philly is not the cleanest city in the states, and he said he made that statement to give hope to the new orleans citizens. Which i understand as well, but he should not have be-littled another city to help his own. it was childish and uncalled for after the city of philadelphia shelterd many katrina victims. I talk about this b/c i live 20mins away from philly. i love philly! it has so much diversity, culture, and history. thier are actually some beautiful wonderful places. we have some bad spots but you just don't go during the night:hehe

I'm not a big fan of the mayor of new orleans. Everytime he opens his mouth stupid shit comes out or racial things come out. He needs to get over himself.

I think its just a city vs city thing. Im from Pittsburgh and we say things about Philly all the time.

I doubt it was a "personal" attack toward Philly. He could have said it about any city, he was just trying to say that New Orleans is cleaning up and getting back on its feet.

i understand that is why he was saying it, BUT he was not professional about it at all. it was rude and inappropiate. i just think he should be more careful what he says.....especially since so many other states have helped him out.

I have friends down that way....how is it for you?

It's fine for my family now. I live in Maryland, was born and raised in New Orleans. The city is recovering nicely, but it's "down the road" south of New Orleans that still hasn't been able to clean up. Everyone forgot about that part of Louisiana in the wake of the drama with the city. There was 23 feet of water down there for about 3 weeks, but that wasn't on the news.

But my family fared well, and the community pulled together and helped each other out. My Dad only had minor damage to his home.

Thanks for asking :)
