The president form my DH FRG has asked me to come to the meeting may 15 if i want to help with the Homecoming Committee with Homecoming preparations. SO my question is ladies who have been involved with homecoming commitees...how much work is it and is it even fun?! She told me...its tons of work and i wont get sleep the night before and i wont look good when he gets home because i will have been up all night working on everything. TIA

I am not sure what to tell you. I just never got involved with wife groups like that. I don't care for them. I also plan my own homecoming and that take me a while. I can't imagine doing it for more than one person.

Yeah i am not so sure about going with this being my first homecoming. What did you do at home for your DH? like a cake and decorate?! Because DH wants his mom and stepdad and his dad and stepmom to come up for his homecoming. i am not to thrilled about that but whatever....

Well for OUR homecomming we just have people decorate the fences and the gym with the sheets that the wives have made during meetings. We make it all about our company. :lol There is always a war among combat arms wives to see which company can be the most pronounced at the homecomming :rofl
Its not a lot of work, just plan a day for sheets to be made, make sure you have a section in the gym for it..go a few hours early and hang them on the outside fences and up in the gym. Thats what "WE" did for OIF2 in Germany.

I always get a welcome home cake, I have a big sign I got on ebay that says "Welcome Home daddy1 We missed you!". I put up stremers and balloons on the inside and outside of the house, the kids make pictures and construction paper chains and hang them all over. In our room I have candels and wine. I just do my own thing. Their is far to much to do for one person to make time for everyone. Hats off to the women who can do both.:)
