I've seen mention of fish here and there and was so glad to see I/we (because DH is also a hobbyist) are not alone in our fishy-love, lol. So.....
what do you have (ie tanks, species, etc)? How long have you been in the hobby?
At the moment we are at an all time low of only having one tank up and running (though there are two that are in storage and have been begging to be brought back out for the last couple of months, lol). Right now we have the 75 up and running and it is populated by a mix of african cichlids. We have two compressiceps (eye-biters), a red top trewavasae and several red zebras who are left over from our last batch of babies (they are now 1 1/2 years old and the parents have passed on). This is DH's tank (though I do all the upkeep...I dont' even remember the last time he FED them let alone did the work, lol) - I much prefer the small tropicals. We are not adding any new fish and, eventually, when this community is gone I will be taking it over for a mixed community tank.
Put away we have a 46 gallon bowfront and a 10 gallon that is used as a nursery/hospital as needed. At the height of our problem, er hobby, we had 7 tanks up and running!
Of course, if you include the big "aquarium" we have lots more water -- we have a 50ftx150ft pond in the front yard that is fully stocked with bluegill, bass, cat fish and three grass carp.
I got my first aquarium when I was 7 and have suffered an increasing love of fish since. In fact, after my next eldest sister graduated/moved out my parents gave in and converted the extra bedroom into the "fish" room to accomodate my tanks, lol.
