Rachael 05-02-2007, 11:17 PM wow~~ lots of fun stuff, Im sure you'll have a great time :hugs
wow, how long are you going to be there? a month? :D
sounds like so much fun!!
Shaky 05-02-2007, 11:24 PM :lol I wish! We'll be there for a week so that's why I'm planning the itinerary so I can see if we can acomodate everything in that week lol I want to do things that wont have anything to do with the south shore beaches the 1st couple of days cause most likley there will be box jellyfishes so I want to leave those activities for later.
You migh want to pick maybe 2-3 activities/places per day (i know it'll be hard to choose from all the options) but you're going to be rushing around like crazy trying to fit everything in if you don't, ya know? you don't want to spend your trip stressing because you're 5 minutes late to the next event. you won't get to enjoy each thing if you're only there for 30 minutes for each activity, ya know?
Shaky 05-02-2007, 11:28 PM Definitely! I just don't know where to start :lol
VinnysGirl 05-02-2007, 11:44 PM I would put the Swap meet, Arizona, Missouri, and Pearl Harbor all on the same day if you can. You will probably spend 2-3 hours at the swap meet on a Saturday or Sunday (it's better to go to the memorials in the afternoon, it's slower) Just be at the Arizona before 2 so you will be able to see the last video and go on the last boat over to the memorial there. You can do your dinner cruise this night!
Do Diamond Head in the morning then go to the Hanauma Bay Preserve after to cool off and hang out snorkeling and playing in the water. Then you could do the luau that night. It'll take you 2-3 hours if you take your time at Diamond Head and then go straight from there to Hanauma Bay since it'll be just a little bit longer to get to that and hang out, then go back to your hotel and get cleaned up and head over to the Luau.
Take the drive up the Pali to Queen Emma's summer palace and then go to the Pali Lookout and make your way around Kamehameha high way through the north shore and then drive down Kamehameha highway (making a circle) and check out the Dole Plantation that afternoon, or do it in the exact opposite time frame and start with the Dole plantation and make the circle up to Pali Lookout and down to Queen Emma's Summer Palace. That evening you can check out the International Marketplace if you want or go to one of the dinner spots you want to see.
You can do Ala Moana Shopping Center and International Marketplace the same day and then drop off all your stuff at the hotel and go hang on Waikiki Beach that afternoon to chill. Or do the International Marketplace and then hang out at the beach and then go to Ala Moana.
The church, temple, Sea Life Park and Dolphin excursion you could probably put all on one day. The Sea Life Park isn't that big so it doesn't take that long and if you plan your times right you can see most of the shows and still do the dolphin excursion in half the day. So you would be able to do the church and temple as well!
That would be 5 days basically and you can squish a lot in those 5 days. If you want on your travel days do the beach and the leisure things on those days and switch some of your touristy stuff to go in for those activities in the other days. :D
Have fun!! :D
Shaky 05-02-2007, 11:49 PM You see, that looks so much organized! :lol Thanks so much Steph!

Make a dinner reservation at one of your Waikiki restaurants and then walk Waikiki beach until you get to your hotel. It's a BEAUTIFUL walk at night and a lot of the restaurants there have AMAZING views of the ocean and the beach!!! Really nice!! Just look up some of the restaurants in Waikiki and pick which one you want and then make the reservation for 9 or so and have dinner then go back to sleep, because you will be TIRED! LOL!! Jet lag sucks!!
Shaky 05-03-2007, 12:20 AM Our 1st flight is in a very tiny plane :scared I mean, I've flew before on really tiny planes but they were for 30 min flights.
Dinner in a nice rest. sounds good :)

If you are getting to your hotel at night you guys can get started and check out Waikiki at night (VERY different from during the day). Steph planned the week out very well though :)

NAH!! You'll have plenty of time for the Arizona since it's literally RIGHT THERE. You'll probably spend 3-4 hours being a first timer at the Swap Meet. You'll just be able to hop in your car, or if you take a bus instead you can just walk to the Arizona (since it's not that far at all) then you'll get your ship pass (for the memorial) and when your number is called you'll watch the video and then they'll take you out on the boat. Then if you want you can catch a trolley over to the USS Missouri on Ford Island. There are a couple tours you can pay for over there or you can just walk around the ship on your own!
My guess though after all that you'll be done by 3:30-4pm and you can catch a dinner cruise if you want that way. They generally start around 5:30-6pm. Good luck!!!
christymichelle 05-03-2007, 12:35 PM sounds like good times:)
Shaky 05-03-2007, 03:58 PM That's exactly what I was worry about, taking too long for the cruise. I've been to the swap meet before but that was some years ago so I'm sure it will feel like new to me plus shopping never gets old :P
Shep's Wife 05-03-2007, 04:05 PM The Polynesian Cultural Center is a great place to visit also. But we spent most of the day there. The luau starts at dusk and then they have a show and stuff. That was the highlight of our trip, with the exception of the Arizona Memorial.
