I was thinking about this topic (spawned by a well meaning but idiotic friend), and decided to share this with you all. I didn't really know where to put this as I suppose parts of it are a vent, but I'm hoping that it will be more of a "hold in there" and "this is why we're here" thing, so I hope it manages to cheer everyone up a bit. It cheered me up to think of it like this, at least. :goodvibes

Do not ask me how I do it

Do not ask me "how I do it," like I have a choice.
He signed up for this and I signed on for him, and that's all you need to know. It doesn't matter how hard the road.
If it were easy to let go, easy to love only when it was easy, it wouldn't be worth it. I'm glad it's hard because I know we'll make it through as long as it's harder to let go than it is to hold on.
I would not find it easy to have a "sometimes" relationship. To be attached only when mutually convenient. Love isn't like that. It's about holding on and never letting go. And, yeah, it's hard and inconvenient sometimes too.
But, once you've found the person that you want to spend the rest of your eternity with, how can anything else compare? How could any other relationship ever live up to being with the one I love? I don't want to be in "sometimes" like. I am lucky enough to have found love. I want love.
So, do not ask me "how I do it," like I have a choice.
And, if you slip and ask anyway, I will try to remember that you deserve pity and not contempt. For you obviously haven't found the kind of hard love that you hold onto, or else you wouldn't have to ask.
How do I do it?
I just do it. There is no alternative choice. Just this once then, I'll try to forgive you your naivety and forget my anger. But, please, do not ask again.
