View Full Version : Where do your fur-kids sleep?

Are you permissive pet-parents that allow them in bed with you? Do you kennel?

The kitties pretty much have free reign in the house at night. None of them go to bed until I do (I am always the last one to go to bed). Hugger sleeps with DD, Kazi usually ends up with DS (unless Peaches gets their first - she refuses to share anything with anyone - quite the little b*tch, lol), Rusty comes to bed with me but only stays for 15-20 minutes of loves and then migrates to the window sill by my side of the bed to sleep and Peaches floats between DH & I's bed and DS's room. When Kazi sleeps with us he has to find a "Kazi hole" which is anywhere he can wedge himself down in between our bodies....the tighter the fit, the better in his opinion. If DH or I happen to fall asleep in the recliner then on or any combination of Hugger, Kazi and/or Peaches will sleep in the chair with us.
Tink, the dog, sleeps in DH and I's room. We don't kennel her due to some issues she has from her previous home/owner but we do confine her to the bedroom. She was sleeping with us but in the last few months she has had progressive issues with her "place" in the pecking order. Part of her readjustment has included revoking her rights to the human bed...(happened to coincide with us getting a new/higher bed that she can no longer jump onto unaided) and she now has her dog bed right next to our bed on the floor.

We dont allow the dog on furniture. She has a bed to sleep on, sometimes shes on that but most of the time shes under the bed on the floor. (drives me nuts! I want her on the dog bed)

my cats, one sleeps on the foot of my bed, the other sleeps in her cat cubby or the back of the sofa.

well i live at home with my parents for the time being but our family dog usually sleeps in their room or downstairs (main floor) near the front door. he has full reign of the house tho, and he naps with me when im home he (L)s my bed!

when db and i move in together this fall and get our own dog (a dobe) i will not let her sleep in our bed, she can have a bed next to ours but she will be too big to share with us! if she wants to share for naps that's fine but at night she will have her own bed!

Daisey (German mix) sleeps by my feet, and NEVER near DH (he doesn't like them on the bed) Lala (Chihuahua mix) sleeps under the blanket on top of the sheet (I don't like the fur so close to my feet I just can't sleep for some reason) right next to me 99% of the time. They are like my kids, I love them

Our cat is not allowed in the bedrooms. She sleeps in the living room on the couch, or wherever she happens to run out of gas and take a snooze.
The pup we're planning on getting will be crate-trained. Although I'm still not sure where I'm going to place the crate :thinking. Definitely not in the bedrooms though, possibly in the living room area.

Brownie, our dog, sleeps on the bed with us unless she's in heat, then she's in her cage.
Troubles, our cat, is either on the bed or in the window.
Tres, our cat, is either on the bed, on the dresser on my robe, somewhere hiding.

Our bed gets quite full with 2 people and 3 animals.

Lucy( my dog) sleeps one of two places, either on her dog bed which is in mine and dbs room or for some reason she likes sleeping in the downstairs bathroom, she'll sit at the door and whine until you open it so she can go in and lay down. Katrina ( my cat) is a little shit who refuses to let anyone get a good night sleep if she is able to roam the house so she either gets locked in the guest room at night, or when db isn't home shes in my room with me and lucy

Mine sleep in our room on the floor by my side of the bed. We don't allow them in bed with us because they just take up so much room.

Our dog pretty much bed whores his way around the house all night. He usually starts out in our middle dd's room, then moves on to our bed. We kick him out as he lays right in between us so then it's on to our son's room and after he boots him he finally ends up in the baby's bed. :nutts

Our dogs sleep loose in the living room, unless one of the females is in season, then we crate her. When DF was gone I let Aila sleep on the bed with me. (she has the tightest coat and sheds the least). Iris the kitty sleeps up in DD's loft bed with her, but will sneak in bed with us sometimes.

Ari (my puppy) sleeps right beside me on the bed. He usually starts under the covers and in the morning I find him in a totally different position on top of them.

Both kitties sleep with us. Peewee usually starts off on the couch then pops up about 15 minutes after we lay down. Peekaboo sits at the edge of the bed and yeowls while I get ready. Then when I'm in bed, she runs up and curls into a ball in the crook of my arm.

Normally, Stella and marco sleep in the laundry room. They get locked up at night because they behave better during the day and night when they ahve downtime. They even know exactly when their bedtime is, and know the bedtime routine.

Sometimes we will let the cats sleep in bed with us though, on special occasions, and then marco curls up between my boobs:blush and stella lays at our feet.

She's mad at me right now because DJ went to sleep on the couch and I'm still on the computer. She knows it's way past our normal bedtime so she's sitting on the edge of the guest bed and staring at me. :lol

Pretty soon I'm going to go take my pills, pull out my contacts and shag DJ to bed and she'll be tripping us to get to bed first.

Our doggies used to sleep in our room on the floor but we got tired having to close our bedroom door..our lab is NOT mature enough to roam the house alone lol. But now we have them in a really big cage together and they sleep in there. It works good for them because they feel comfortable and go in and out of it all day.

Our dog Bruce sleeps in his Kennel (it is in our front door entry way). The bunnies sleep in their cage in the house...for now (they will be moved outside pretty soon). The turtles roam free in the backyard, so they sleep where ever they choose out there.

Everyone knows where Miss Sophie sleeps! LOL!! She spends most of the night in between Dh and I stretched out! We put a blanket on the bed at night to keep her hair from getting all over our comforter. What's really crazy is I have trouble sleeping if she's NOT in the bed! I think it's that I know she's not up to something if I can feel her next to me in bed! LOL!!

our kittens do not sleep in the bed with us, because they attack dh and he hates that. So they sleep out in the house, where I dont know. They hide a lot.

My cats sleep wherever they feel like it. The one will usually get under the covers with me for about 10-15 minutes. If it is cold she will stay there till she gets pushed out.

Dora, our cat, sleeps wherever. But usually not in bed. Sometimes she will sleep with Breanna but that isn't often. She doesn't ever sleep in bed with us. She does have to come say good night and good morning for about 5 minutes each day.

Rocky, our dog, sleeps in his kennel cage thing. He is not allowed on our beds. If I sleep downstairs then I leave him out and he sleeps with me on the couch.

Our girls sleep in our room with us... usually on the bed. Mocha, she our bigger puppy (about 55-60 pounds) and she sleeps on our feet at the foot of the bed. Maya however, is our smaller puppy (only about 15 pounds if that) and she sleeps up by us. Sometimes she will even get under the comforter, not the sheet though, and get right up in between hubby and me! lol She's the baby!!!

The cats, Chloe and Charlie, sleep anywhere they want. They have full reign of the house. It is usually in bed with DH and I though unless they are playing and running around the house like a herd of elephants. The puppy, Kody, is crate trained so he sleeps in his crate in the corner of our bedroom.

No stinky dogs in the bed :lol (even if they are bathed I still dont like the "dog" smell) They have a kennel they sleep in.
The cats... well... durning their cat naps, its where ever, but at night its in the guest room because they will not let me sleep. Damn needy beings. ;)

Scooter (our mini dachsund) sleeps as close as poosible. When I sleep alone (which is most of the time) Scooter sleeps stretched out along my back or stomach. When hubby and I sleep at night together, he sleeps at our feet, but when we're just napping together, he sleeps wedged in between hubby and I.
