Does anyone know what kind of shots they give the recruits in processing?

He has the flu now, (only 5 people reacted badly out of 130) and he won't go on sick call because he says it will delay him. He also can't buy ibuprofen or aspirin @ the PX because someone once died when they took ibuprofen... didn't know they were allergic to it.

He has (or had, at this point) CMV negative blood. I guess maybe that's why he got a bad reaction?

I don't have his return address yet so I can't even comfort him. :(
But I'm hoping he can call sometime this weekend.
His letter was SO sad...

I want him to come home...
I want to take care of him and make him feel better.... :(

They give them a lot of shots, from what I understand. Which is good 'cause it means he'll probably feel better in a few days... Right? Some shots just make some people feel awful for a little bit and then it's better. Either way, good luck and I'm sure he'll be just fine.

no,
in the Army it takes a couple weeks to get a return address. Have to have platoon & company name info on it, or something, and supposedly it takes awhile before that is actually assigned.

His body is adjusting to all the new viruses surging through his system. Its a very normal reaction.

My brother was really sick, flu-like, after all the injections and whatnot. He survived!

He said only 5-7 people got bad reactions out of 130.... that's what made me so concerned.

Thanks for the responses
