View Full Version : 2008 elections - who do you like so far?
Brandi 05-12-2007, 01:44 PM Which of the 2008 presidential candidates do you like the most so far and why?
I REALLY REALLY like Mitt Romney (http://pewforum.org/religion08/profile.php?CandidateID=1) a lot. I completely agree with nearly every issue stance he has and have been following his channel and videos on youtube, trying to learn more about him. He doesn't support abortion or gay marriage which are two important issues to me, and he seems to be a very sincere (as sincere as anyone in politics can get :lmao ) candidate. Plus, he has 5 kids so we know he is a family man and I think that's a good quality :P :giggle
I also REALLY like John McCain (http://pewforum.org/religion08/profile.php?CandidateID=3). He is more well known that Mitt Romney is so I think he'll probably get more coverage and lean with the public, but he's a good candidate and would be another top choice for me based on his stance and record on issues that are important to me such as gay marriage, abortion and school vouchers :yes
Who are you leaning towards and why?
harrisonsdream 05-12-2007, 01:46 PM if giuliani runs then him. but i'm liking mccain too
Green~Mammy 05-12-2007, 05:40 PM I am thinking Obama at this point.
I was all for Obama, gung ho, but then his campaign REALLLLY pissed me off, so I am leaning more towards Edwards.
Honestly, I would take any dem that was not Hilary.
I could never vote for any of the repubs other than Giuliani because I will nto vote for any candidate who wants to ban abortion. But Giuliani said he wants to be a pres like Bush, and I couldnt handle that.
Sarah 05-12-2007, 05:51 PM Honestly, I really don't have a favorite yet. I need to do more research on them. I watched the Republican debates, and to be honest, none of them really impressed me :shrug
Elizabeth 05-12-2007, 06:02 PM Romney, same reasons as Brandi!
Shep's Wife 05-12-2007, 06:10 PM Honestly, I really don't have a favorite yet. I need to do more research on them.
Me too.
I really need to sit down and educate myself on the candidates :blush
Green~Mammy 05-12-2007, 06:17 PM I could never vote for any of the repubs other than Giuliani because I will not vote for any candidate who wants to ban abortion. But Giuliani said he wants to be a pres like Bush, and I couldnt handle that.
Yeah I was liking him for his free choice stance until the article went into what he had to say about Iraq.
It is way early in the game I am sure I will change my mind a few times before the election's. I am hoping the Green Party can get a national candidate on the books.
chelsea<3josh 05-12-2007, 08:15 PM i think obama at this point but i still have lots of thinking/researching to do!
footstepswife 05-12-2007, 08:15 PM I am really bad, I am still looking thru everything to decided. I am so hard to find one I like right now.
hteew 05-12-2007, 08:54 PM I have read Obama's books, watched several interviews with him and his family, and tried to keep up him. The first time I had ever heard of him was when he delivered his speech at the Dem National Conv. I remember I had the TV on and I heard him talking and it stopped me in my tracks. I stood there and listened to his whole speech. It has been a VERY long time since I have felt this type of enthusiasm for a candidate.
I agree that his campaign is messing up lately, but I have to wonder if everyone is doing some of the same things but his are bubbling up to the surface a bit earlier. It would be a HUGE long shot if he won.
I have yet to find one I really like, but then again I am picky.
I hear about Mitt all the time because I am a Glenn Beck nerd, and I LOVE Guiliani, but border security and homeland security are HUGE issues to me as well as social programs or less of them rather.
I've worked on the democrat party, and the Republican and for the past 6 years I've tended to vote Republican.
bunkie 05-12-2007, 09:31 PM Obama hands down.
Ashnbri 05-12-2007, 09:34 PM I really like Giuliani obviously :lol and I also like Richardson.
SchlegelsBaby 05-12-2007, 09:39 PM For me it's more toward Obama. I like what he has to say and what he is proposing.
