I think I've narrowed down my dress options to these four, but I cant pick one! What do you think? (bearing in mind that the wedding takes place outdoors in TX in July)

I have no clue - the mil's organising it! :hehe I'm going to make it as informal as possible - I dont want a proper reception, more a small party, hopefully in a restaurant or something. The ceremony itself is going to be outdoors but it'll be in the morning so it shouldn't be too hot!

Mao
02-22-2006, 10:09 PM
It'd be nice to have people on the bride's side though - atm it's just my parents!!

see i was thinking the exact same thing. i love dress 2 because of that fact but im just thinking for an outdoor texas wedding in july that might be a bit heavy. how long do you think the ceremony is gonna last sonia. if its not that long then you might be okay in dress 2 but if its gonna be a fairly lengthy ceremony then you might want to go with dress 4.

Breezy
02-22-2006, 10:24 PM
damnit dh is scheduled to work as of now but his schedule changes so freaking much that it isn't funny.
I will do everything I can think of Sonia to make it :D

Mao
02-22-2006, 10:25 PM

With the right paperwork, you can in Texas :D It's going to be July 8th - I dont think it'll change as the ship should be sra then, but with the Juneau you never know!!

Breezy
02-22-2006, 10:29 PM

So where are you guys going to live Japan?

Mao
02-22-2006, 10:45 PM
yeah Cat

So where are you guys going to live Japan?

It's a little complicated.... I have to finish my PhD so I'll be in the UK for about a year. The plan is that df will hopefully get around to putting in his officer's package by Sept, which will take him back to the US. Once his training's complete, we were thinking of trying for San Diego, Hawaii or possibly Texas. It'll probably be SD though. Df really hates the Juneau - he wants to be out of there asap!

Breezy
02-22-2006, 10:49 PM
So did mine lol until he got VA then the Juneau didn't look too bad :lmao
that sucks that you guys would still be separated :(

Breezy
02-22-2006, 10:49 PM

Dont tell me that!! :hehe :shock

The seperation will only be for 6 months - we'll just look at it like a deployment, only I'll be the one going. It'll be worth it in the end!

Breezy
02-22-2006, 10:59 PM
Oh I hear ya
actually we went to Charleston 1st and it was OK but not for us. VA is where we looked at each other and said hey you know the Juneau looks really good right now :hehe

You know, I haven't even thought of registering! With me being in Japan/Britain and df being in Japan/US, I really haven't a clue. Any ideas?

Breezy
02-22-2006, 11:08 PM
haha sorry I registered at Belks and JCPenny and nobody paid it any attention :lmao
We got what people wanted us to have lol

Yeah we would like for you to come here. I won't be going with cat though lol
my base isn't closing :)
So I am stuck here until 2008 (either Feb or July)

Mao
02-22-2006, 11:17 PM
I'm leaving the choice of base up to df - I've never been to the states so I wouldn't have a clue. I think he wants Texas at some point - he wants to be on a mine sweeper at some point.

I dont think I'll register then :) I'm not too bothered about wedding gifts - to be honest I wouldn't know where to put them at the moment!

Breezy
02-22-2006, 11:20 PM
I hear ya :D
the minesweepers are what is leaving TX sorry hun
The pilots will still be here though

02-22-2006, 11:21 PM

Breezy

Mao
02-22-2006, 11:41 PM

Breezy
02-23-2006, 12:03 AM
yeah that sucks
but they are Soooo small lol
we toured one with my sons Boy Scouts and I was like gosh I thought the Juneau was small haha it looks like a carrier to them lol

Mao
02-23-2006, 12:07 AM
He's was on a destroyer for a while - they're pretty small too, I think. I think he just wants to be on a mine sweeper because they're only underway for a few months at a time (typically speaking) - we're a little fed up of him permanently being underway and we'd like some newlywed time!

Breezy
02-23-2006, 12:16 AM
oh I hear ya :D
Good luck hope he gets what he wants
I enjoyed Sd much more than here anyways lol
there is way more to do there ;)

JudyB
02-23-2006, 10:31 PM
I like 1 and 4...I think they both would look great with the bridesmaid dress you picked!! I guess teh ultimate question is how heavy did they feel when you tried them on? That will help make your decision since your wedding is outside!!

I like your taste in general. I really like more streamlined dresses like those you picked rather than the poofy princess style a lot of brides choose.
