i hate ames for many reasons but a couple are because i have lived her my whole life. i am not very close to my family and i miss df. TONS

I am originally from Oakland Iowa. I lived there up until dh joined the military and I have to say I don't miss it much. lol Then again I am in Europe for my second time and life is so much different then being in a small country town.

I live in the Quad Cities but on the Illinois side...But darn close enough to Iowa.

im in the davenport area ive lived here almost my whole life and im back here while hes in iraq and i know how you feel there nothing in iowa i love the south where i was born theres tons to do and the ppl are not rude but maybe thats just alabama

Iowans....oh how I'm so glad I found you!! I'm stationed over here in Germany but my husband just left for Iraq and I'm moving back there hopefully in the next couple of weeks for the duration of the deployment. I'm not there now, but I was born and raised in Davenport. It's so nice to see people talking about home. You don't hear people talk about Iowa much unless it has to do with elections. :) Hopefully I will be back there for a visit in Sept. because my sister is having her first child.

Dh and I are both from Council Bluffs IA but we are stuck in North Carolina right now:grumpy

I grew up in Iowa...I lived in a small little town (1400 people) next to Burlington Iowa. Then I went to college up at St. Ambrose for a few years. Iowa is a nice place to grow up; but Im glad I got out when I did, there was just NOTHING to do there:duh! Im in Colorado now and I love it here:cp! Nice to meet some fellow Iowans...go Hawkeyes:hehe!!
