View Full Version : Preggos with pierced bellies.
Jennie 06-03-2007, 09:53 PM Did you take out your belly ring?
How far were you along?
Did you use the extender belly rings?
I'm wondering because yesterday it felt like I snagged something with it and it hurt for a minute or two. Dh said something about taking it out since I'm getting bigger, but it just bothered me that once and I still got alot of room left on the ring (i have a spiral ring). So just wondering..
i still have mine in... i'm 26 weeks and there's still room on the bar... but i plan to start using the extender sometime in the next month or so.. :)
goldilockz 06-03-2007, 09:56 PM Will it close up if you take it out? Why keep it in when pregnant anyway?
hartnsol 06-03-2007, 09:56 PM i did not take mine out until i was at the hospital in labor and they forced me
they said it had to come out in case i was rushed into surgery

DoublEE's Momma 06-03-2007, 09:59 PM With my first I had mine in all the way til about 7- 71/2 months, then the doc told me to take it out just in case I had to have an emergency c section...I switched from a regular one though to a plastic preggo belly ring *ordered it off the internet* at about 6 months. The hole was still here when I put it back in when Eian was 4 months.
With this one I've taken it out already, I took it out at 19 weeks. Only because my skin was stretching and hurting around it and I was snagging it so I took it out....much easier and it feels alot better now. I plan on putting it back in after the baby is born and if I can't then I'll get it repierced..lol.
I found that I had alot of room left on the ring but my skin between the top and the bottom holes was hurting due to the stretching....I'd say if it's starting to irritate you then to take it out, better to take it out then to snag it and have it rip or get even more sore....
Jennie 06-03-2007, 09:59 PM I don't want to take it out unless I have to because it'll close up.
I know I'm not the skinniest person in the world, but me and my best friend got them done together so it's kinda special (I know that sounds corny).

How long have you had it pierced?
I had mine pierced for just about 3 years before I got preggo and took it out, and when I went to put it back in after having it out for about 6 months the hole was still there, it was a little tough getting it through the very top of the piercing but just a few wiggles and it went through.
farmerschyk 06-03-2007, 10:59 PM I never took my ring out.. I went to Hot Topic and bought the plastic extenders and you can cut them to the size you need... because they were plastic I never had to take them out during any ultrasounds and even when I went into deliver Nate..
girl20racer 06-03-2007, 10:59 PM I took mine out, my belly button was completely FLAT when I had dd

LaurenBeth 06-03-2007, 11:37 PM I took mine out at about 3 or so months. My hubby and mom were pressure me to take it out. Plus it was bugging me.
*Crystal* 06-03-2007, 11:50 PM I took mine out with DD at around 3 months. I also wore an eyebrow ring it in because the other things were too big and didnt look good on me!
I never put one back in after having her so I didnt take it out this time!
Jennie 06-04-2007, 12:12 AM I've had it pierced for about 2 1/2 years (I can't believe it's been that long now that I think about it.) Do you think it'll close if I end up having to take it out?

That's the kind I had! It worked great for me for a few months and then I still ended up having to take it out due to the skin stretching so thin between the holes.

I had mine done about 6 years when I got preggo and I took it out when I was 3 months preggo and shes now 17 months old and if I wanted to I could still put something in it, but I dont.
Jenabugg 06-04-2007, 12:32 AM I was with my preggo friend the other day and we saw belly rings that have a longer piece for pregnant people... its a pretty smart idea.. its longer so it wont rip or anything!
Kristin 06-04-2007, 02:26 AM I was able to keep all of mine in through my pregnancies and each time the hospitals made me take them out because they sent the machines crazy that monitored them.
