View Full Version : Homecoming Dress HELP!
Elizabeth 06-04-2007, 05:57 PM Ok, I had to order this dress from another store location, because BR didn't have any more online or at any stores in the bay area. So I need opinions. Do I look preggers? Too booby? I'm not sure I'm doing the top thing right... the halter part is the same ribbons that come out at the bust.
Here I am in it... pardon the frown and mess.

Here's the BR pic from online.

I want honest opinions, thanks!!!
msdarbonne 06-04-2007, 06:05 PM I think it looks cute. I didn't even notice you were preggo.
armywifecarole 06-04-2007, 06:07 PM I think it looks cute! And frankly, if you like, that's all that matters!
dodson2006 06-04-2007, 06:10 PM It looks cute on you :)
Post another one soon with how you are going to wear your hair and stuff, I am sure you will look fab :)
Elizabeth 06-04-2007, 06:11 PM I'm not Preggo! :lol
Sometimes, empire dresses make people who aren't look it... so I was checking.
msdarbonne 06-04-2007, 06:12 PM Oh well that explains it. :giggle I love empire waists...preggo or not.
mrsjohnson1222 06-04-2007, 06:14 PM IMO looks a little preggo to me i would wear it because i'm preggo. But it loks cute on you
Kindra 06-04-2007, 06:16 PM not trying to be rude but i didn't read what you wrote and i thought you were pregnant. It looks great up top but with your tiny frame i think you can do so much more then that dress! Or you need a smaller size around the waist.
Either way your beautiful!
Kelsey 06-04-2007, 06:21 PM I think it's a pretty good emipre waist dress...it does look a tiny bit preggo---but not NEARLY as much as some of those shirts/dresses do!
Hm. I'm still trying to decide...going from the picture posted online, the bow on your's looks a bit "frumpy" and wrinkled. Not sure how to fix that though...steam it?
jlbecker 06-04-2007, 06:22 PM you're beautiful! i know what you're saying about the empire waist though. honestly it's hard to tell with just a picture.
the BR pic looks different, like her back dips lower or something?
girl20racer 06-04-2007, 06:22 PM it looks like some MIGHT think its a maternity style dress, but honestly you make that dress look awesome :tu :woohoo

Yeah I was wondering... on their website they show her wearing it and the back is hanging so low. I tried on a 2 in the store in a similar dress and the back hung down beneath my bra, but now I have a 0 and I'm not sure how it's supposed to fit. I dunno if I'm too busty for it or what. or if I'm not doing the top right.
Kindra 06-04-2007, 06:31 PM It also looks like different materal. Yours looks a tad silky. Hers looks different and lighter. More than likely it's the light. But i still think the waist is too big. Even for that style of dress. Can you put the back lower? I think because of how tight the bust is and how loose the mid is that what make you look preggers.

I could but then my bra shows... I guess I could try to find one that goes lower cause I'm not one to go without!!!
Caimbrie 06-04-2007, 06:36 PM The shiney look to the dress makes it look like a nightgown to me :(
I like the fabric of the one in the picture. Luckily you're so pretty and thin that you look great in everything :lol
Elizabeth 06-04-2007, 06:37 PM I dunno if it's the lighting or what... it doesn't look that shiny in person. it's a silk though so it's not completely flat in color either.
bubbleheadwife 06-04-2007, 06:38 PM Love love the color!! It looks so great on you!
Caimbrie 06-04-2007, 06:40 PM I wanted to add that the style of the dress is great on you. I just wasn't sure about the shiney fabric.

Yeah they are there, but they are more under the boob on me... I'm a size zero but I'm a full C cup so it fits me dif from the model. I'm just trying to decide if the way it fits me is ok?
DoublEE's Momma 06-04-2007, 07:38 PM Honestly my first thought is it looks like a nightie...I like the color on you but I think with your tiny frame something more fitting would look better.
MissAmyB 06-04-2007, 07:47 PM I love the color but think you should highlight your awesome figure with something more fitted, I think empire waists makes even the tiniest gals look preggo.

I thought the same...
Cupcake 06-04-2007, 07:53 PM I think its cute :) Not too booby and you def DONT look preggo. I'd kill to be as skinny as you! I'd get a clear shoe to go with it :)
Elizabeth 06-04-2007, 07:57 PM Thanks for all the input everyone! I might end up ordering the 2 and seeing how that works, I just feel all boobs... which i know DH won't mind for his homecoming but still! :lol
*Christy6* 06-04-2007, 08:00 PM You seem very tiny for that big of a dress. It is cute but looks like pjs to me.
amandalaine 06-04-2007, 08:06 PM I don't think it's too booby or you look preggo, but I don't think the top is done right. On the model the waist kind of comes to a point at the cleavage, but the waist on yours is more straight across, if that makes sense at all.

yeah so does that mean it looks like I need a bigger size?
Who knew a dress could be so confusing!

I have no clue! LOL I guess if you can't hike it up like in the picture, then probably? :dunno
Carrie 06-04-2007, 08:45 PM LOL I think you look great in it! i didnt think that you were preggo, lol
missingmysgt 06-04-2007, 08:46 PM i think its b-e-a-utiful!
Elizabeth 06-04-2007, 08:47 PM i think its b-e-a-utiful!
:P My hubby says that too!
Honestly Elizabeth, I think the dress is pretty & looks ok on you but you have such a great, thin figure that it doesn't suit you as well as it should! IMO, it looks a little frumpy b/c your so thin and it's just something about how it fits your mid section. :shrug

I agree...
I like it! That style is so in right now.
