View Full Version : I feel so horrible
Chevy_Gurl 06-05-2007, 11:30 AM :tears :( :(
In 8 months & 2 weeks I have never in a million years let Sylas is CIO until this morning :tears He is beyond tired and just won't go to sleep. So I put him in his crib and closed the door :tears :tears I feel so horrible though :(
Casey 06-05-2007, 11:47 AM It's ok michelle. It wont hurt him. Its good for him to be able to do that now and then. Trust me. How are you doing otherwise?
*Crystal* 06-05-2007, 11:48 AM Sometimes babies just need a good cry, just like you and I!! Dont feel bad, he knows you still love him!
MelissaMc424 06-05-2007, 11:48 AM It will be ok. I know how hard it is, but sometimes the best thing for them is to learn to calm and comfort themselves.
Frankie Lee 06-05-2007, 12:03 PM I know it is so hard...it breaks your heart to hear them cry like that. Hopefully he will get a great well needed nap!
girl20racer 06-05-2007, 12:03 PM it is VERY hard :hugs But DD sleeps like a champ now :)
queentreev1004 06-05-2007, 12:22 PM i can only imagine when i have to do that. i know it is going to be hard but i'm sure it will pay off in the end.
MissAmyB 06-05-2007, 12:25 PM I feel your pain, but if there's nothing else wrong with him and he needs to sleep, you are doing him a favor!

It always breaks my heart too.. but sometimes you gotta do it.
Brandi 06-05-2007, 12:47 PM Hunter is 7 1/2 months and we're starting to do a little bit of CIO also. Its working though because he's finally starting to sleep more than 3 or 4 hours at a time. When I took him to his ped for his last appt, the ped was the one telling me to let him cry for a while so I feel more assured doing it. Sometimes they just need to fuss for a bit!
Chevy_Gurl 06-05-2007, 12:48 PM :whew took him only 15 minutes of crying and doing his butt in the air, head on the bed push around :giggle before he fell asleep. Normally he just nurses and then lays down quietly to take a nap. Just not used to it :sigh
MissAmyB 06-05-2007, 12:49 PM So glad it's over, :hugs for you!
Shep's Wife 06-05-2007, 12:59 PM aw, I am sorry :sadeyes that is so hard to do!
Becca 06-05-2007, 01:24 PM I'm glad it's over Michelle! :hugs We had to deal with that with DD for a year at bedtime. It was horrible...but if I went in to console her she just wanted to play - then when I left again it was exponentially worse. I have started numerous threads about it over the last 2 years :lol About 2 months ago she just decided bedtime wasn't so bad. Now she crawls right up her little Dora bed, gets tucked in and goes to sleep :) It just takes time :hugs

Riley is a butt in the air baby too... Glad he went down easy for you. We have started having to do CIO with Riley a lot more because he is fighting everything these days. It's not easy, but it does get easier!!
Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to turn off "mommy guilt"? :yes :thinking

I can't wait for that day! I am dreading putting Riley in his big boy bed!

I agree. :)
It's hard and heartbreaking, but sometimes they just need to fuss/cry for a little.
Kristin 06-05-2007, 03:21 PM I've done CIO with all of my kids, I don't have any problems at bedtime and they all sleep very well.
CoffeeGirl 06-05-2007, 03:52 PM I know it is so hard...it breaks your heart to hear them cry like that. Hopefully he will get a great well needed nap!
