I'm embarassed to admit that I don't know anything about color safe bleach, although I see it advertised often. Today, I was ironing (hence question #2 which is coming next), and I was griping to myself about all the little stains on dh's khaki cargo shorts. He has two pair that he loves, and he doesn't want to get rid of them, but there are little stains here and there all over. Is this something I could try color safe bleach on? Or do you have any other ideas? I should start checking his clothes before I wash them every time, so I can pre-treat. As much as I want him to replace them, they are expensive shorts - damn overpriced Abercrombie - so I hate the thought of buying new ones just to have the same thing happen all over again. Any advice?

Ok, so question #2 is about ironing. I have finally gotten the work shirt with starch down pat. But I still have trouble with the blue utility pants. I always get a washed-out or faded looking line where the pocket is. So I tried tucking the pocket back, but then I don't get as crisp a look since it doesn't lay as well on the board. How do you ladies avoid the pocket line?

(I know some will say... 'I don't iron his clothes, he's a big boy', etc. I used to say the same thing, but now that he's working so much and I'm not, and since he's been trying to so hard to make good impressions for years now, I want to help as much as I can. I benefit from promotions too, ya know? And I think appearance definitely helps when it comes to promotions.)

If you've already washed and dried his pants the likelihood of getting the stains out of his pants is LOW! The stain has already set. If you want to try something on colors that gets the stains out pretreat with a bit of pinesol and then put some pinesol in the wash as well. It works great and I've gotten the yucky ring around the collar stains in DH's utility shirts out that way.

The ironing thing I'm not too sure about, but Dh always puts a REALLY thick layer of starch and irons then HARDCORE after we first buy them before washing them and the creases stay in the shirts and pants without having to iron anymore. We just hang them up after they come out of the dryer. Hairspray works to get those creases as well... the aqua net stuff! :D

I use the Clorox bleach for colors and I like it. Works good for me.
