I was reading another post and it seems like alot of ladies meet their SO's online...so how many of you met online and where (chatroom, website like myspace, dating website, etc)?

DH and I went to HS together but we never knew each other. We met on Myspace July 10 and Aug 4th we got married.(L)

DH and I met in a chatroom when we were in high school. He lived about an hour away, but I was nervous about meeting him. Then I found a friend of mine had gone to school with him before she moved to my school. After she vouched for him, we met, and 4 years later we're happily married! :)

I met my boyfriend off of plentyoffish.com...He sent me a message one day wanting to meet local people and find out what there is to do in the area since this was his very first duty station and had only been here a few weeks.Now here we are in a relationship and him deployed.

I met DB on myspace. He commented on my blog about my car getting broken into.

My dh and I met on AIM Dec. '98 (my AIM profile had marital status listed as "never again" and he loved it!). Everyone always asked how I got up the courage to meet him in person... I was never worried because he was in the Air Force and my brother-in-law was stationed at the same base. We met and then got married on New Years Day 2000. It's been an exciting ride ever since!

I joined a website called usmilitarysingles.com, my friends and I had just met a bunch of sailors in Brisbane over the weekend, and we just thought the uniform was so hot lol. So we wanted to talk to more... we never thought anything would come out of it- just a penpal maybe.

Anyways about a week after I joined- I get an email from dh- lol it took me about a week to reply but when I did- we started talking.

We talked on the phone NON STOP for about 6 months-I was still dating guys over here until about 4 months before I went to see him- it was around July when I realised I reallllly liked him. Then I flew to Germany to meet him. I wasn't really nervous until I got off the plane in Frankfurt lol... haha like usual- he WAS late- I thought he stood me up! Well then I called him and he was in the wrong terminal!! LOL about 5 minutes later he ran up to me and kissed me.... I was still abit nervous so I started teasing him to break the ice.. it worked. I stayed with him for 9 weeks and then left engaged... our engagement was for like 9 months and some change- then we got married in Vegas in August 06.

Ha. We met on AOL in Nov 1996. We met in a chat room called The Medieval Tavern. It was a room where people role played different characters from the medieval times. My character was a Celtic Healer named Lady Macha and his was a Wood Elf named Conn Levas. :lmao I even have the webpage up that I made for them when we were heavy into playing.

Coincidentally, they got married on March 15, 1997 and OUR wedding date was set for March 15, 2003 - but he deployed on March 6.

DB and I met over Livejournal.com. You see, I am soo not the type to meet people online. Not at all! I use to smirk at people that did and be wary of it.

One night in December, my friend Amanda ( whom I met via my cousin Diona) asked me to find and screen a guy for her to date because she had horrible luck with guys. So I said WTH and did a search on LJ for guys in her area. I narrowed it down to the three with the best userpics. Then chose the one with the birthday closest to my own. I read his blog, liked it, found him funny.

So I commented saying "Hi, my name is Christina, I stumbled onto your journal and thought I would say hi and that I was here. I may return if that is okay by you"
He replied with his IM screennames and said to catch him online sometime. SO I did. And we talked for nine hours. The next night we talked again for 4 or 5 hours. And then he gave me another email address to use and we talked all night again. We talked daily for at least an hour every day after that. I really started to like him! I felt horrible because he was suppose to be for my friend! She passed though (she regrets it now!) And he and I have been close since. We sent hundreds of emails and texts and IMs and phone conversations back and forth. Finally, in May I decided that the distance was too much and moved to be near him. He had wanted me to move soon after we started talking but would have never pushed. We spent three GLORIOUS weeks together before he deployed on the 11th of June!

I met my bf online. We started talking about 2 years ago on IRC and then we lost touch. There was no magic involved to start with, he was picking on me and I asked him why he hated me. :grin:
We started talking about a little more serious things after that, but then he disappeared (joined the Navy) and I moved and we pretty much forgot about each other. About 9 months later we bumped into each other again one night on IRC and he asked if I had a Skype account (Skype is pretty much like talking on the phone, but for free over internet) and strangely I signed up for that just a few months earlier without actually using it. (I totally believe some things happen for a reason)
We Skyped for I dont know how long that night. Like 5 hours or so, talking about absolutely nothing. Thats was October 17 2006, and things just took off from there. Neither one of us expected it to be more than what it was, we just got along great and had fun talking. After a couple of months we started talking about meeting and finally came to arrange it. He visited me on his leave for about 3 weeks and went home only 3 days ago. Home and home... He got his new orders to Hawaii so that's where he is right now and I'm waiting to hear from him. Hopefully he liked me as much as I liked him. :wub

Well technically the first time we "met" it was online. I was dating his friend and we all played Everquest on the same server. His friend saw me chatting with my BF over yahoo and was instantly smitten but would never make a move, he's the honorable sort. Since I was super high level when I wasn't spending time with my BF and was on EQ and Tim (the friend) was on, sometimes I'd go to where he was hunting and power level him or just hang out and chat, just being nice since he was my BF's best friend. We had a lot in common and became really good friends.

The BF had WAY too much baggage and was clingy and needed serious help. He had a lot of growing up to do. I finally got sick of his BS and dumped him, although for like a month before that Tim kept trying to keep us together, he was afraid I'd stop being his friend. I finally told him, look, I care about this guy but I don't LOVE him anymore, he's taken everything I had to give, he's sapped me, he's lied to me, he's got major issues that he refuses to get help for and I just can't trust him. So Tim and I kept chatting online, we still hadn't met in person. Within a week he got up the courage to ask me to give him a chance. I did and it worked out wonderfully. :)

So if asked where we met? For the first time we met it was at the Sarnak ruins in The Overthere as his Dark Elf Necromancer and my Wood Elf Bard. :D

We're nerds with you! :cp We met while playing Dark Age of Camelot. My guild merged with his, and one night as we were waiting for a mutual friend he started a "stripping" contest with me (having his toon take off his armor). It was all downhill after that. :P

Omg I'm just the opposite! I couldnt get used to EQ! When he's home, we played a bit because he was across the country from me so it was a way to actually do stuff together. We played WoW for a bit, but I haven't played either for awhile.
