With the way the mail is running, I need to start putting together a package for DF for July 4th. Any ideas? I did a search on the board and found one idea but it was mostly snacks and sweets. DF isn't really into snacks. Any other ideas to help him celebrate?

I just sent patriotic water balloons. I figure it is pretty hot where DB is so they might be useful as well as fun :)

Find him some watertoys and goofy things like that. Maybe find him a patriotic t-shirt of some kind. You could try taking lots of pics of you if you know what I mean in a patriotic theme for him. Make a CD of patriotic songs for him that he'll be able to listen to on the 4th. You could send him some paper decorations and things that if he is able to they could put up to make it feel more like home there!!

Hmm.... my husband is a snackaholic so his boxes are full of dried fruit and granola bars and energy drinks.....

It may sound cheesy but at Target, in the $1 section, there are currently tons of cute lil 4th of July goodies & trinkets, you may find ideas there

I don't have any ideas yet, but thanks for posting on this cuz I need to get going on a July 4th package too...it's DB's and my one year anniversary that day so I want it to be a really nice one! We both ran in a 5k last year on the 4th and I'm doing it again this year, so I think I'll get an extra tshirt from it and put it in there for him:) Good luck with yours, hope you find some cool stuff!

I found a really cute glittery red white and blue hate that I'm going to fill with red white and blue candy and wrap it up. I also found some patriotic themed pop tarts. I've got little flags, star confetti, and these cute patriotic glow in the dark necklaces...like you would get at a party or something...he'll get a kick out of them. Will probably include some red gatorade mix and blue mix.
