I saw that book advertised everywhere so I decided to buy it. I LOVED the prose and the author's style of writing, but when I got a couple of chapters into it, I was completely turned off and sickened when he talked about the one boy being raped by the neighborhood bullies. I couldn't bring myself to finish the book! Now looking back I'm wondering if I should try reading it again. Has anyone read all the way through "The Kite Runner?" What did you think?

I saw that the author has another book coming out.... the title is something about a Thousand Sunrises...? something like that. It looks interesting...

i read it too, and while it was slow at first once i got into it i couldnt put it down. it was very sad and disturbing but worth it to finish you should try to if you can. i plan on reading the new book as well, i think it is about women, and they have a deal here where if you buy it at schulers you can get a ticket to hear him speak, im thinking about doing that as well!

It's a great book, you should try to finish it. Also, the author has a new one out that I'm trying to wait for the library to get... A Thousand Splendid Suns. It got great reviews as well.

The author is: Khaled Hosseini and the book is about two boys in Afghanistan. I love the way he writes.... the words are so beautiful.

I read it. I thought the story was interesting (though I had to force myself to get through the rape part) but I didn't really care for the author's style of prose.
