If you have a baby and havn't breastfed for almost the first 3 weeks and you're still lactating but less.. is there a way you could start to breastfeed (obviously you'd still need formula since your supply is low) and get your supply up enough to breastfeed solely? Would pumping do it?

Yes, you should be able to if you are still lactating. Check the Le Leche Leauge online. You should be able to get some info from there. I stopped breastfeeding Gwen a little while ago, but I still have a (very low) supply.

It's possible, though it may be a little tough for baby to take the real nipple versus the bottle. If started out on a bottle, baby tends to prefer the rubber nipple over the real one since the rubber nipple is easier to get milk from.

My right breast is leaking very little now but my left still quite a bit. Wyatt's been using the Playtex Nursers... I guess it couldn't hurt to try.

You can also take Fenugreek. It helps with supply. Its an herb that my LC had me take. I had to take 3 pills 3 times per day and it will make you smell like maple syrup. Also drink a ton of water and eat a ton of oatmeal. That is supposed to help too. It did help some for me but my supply was low from the start so it only helped me so much
yes, yes you can. and after we were talking about this last night, i definitey think you should give it a try :)

Wyatt latched on real well last night but after a few minutes he got a little p'd off because the flow wasn't what he used to with the bottle. I had to give him the bottle because he kept screaming while I was trying to get him to latch back on.

yeah I stopped b/c Riley was such a hard sucker, and then felt guilty and after 3 weeks of not breastfeeding at all, I was able to totally get the milk supply back. Pump a lot, and have him latch on as often as possible. In all the books and advice I read online, they say just thinking about breastfeeding or feeding the baby can help. Good luck!
