he had already told me he bought a ring....but said it was getting sized (fib). he had actually tied a string around my finger while i was sleeping...i couldn't believe he got away with that!! :lol
anyway, i had night-class one night and when i got home, he was with some of our friends....actually the friends who introduced us. we "decided" to go out to dinner. our friends drove us to this really swanky restaurant. since it was late, we were the only people there. after dinner he got down on one knee....(L)
while i knew it was coming up soon, i didn't expect it that night cause i thought the ring was still at the jewelers....

dh never really proposed really..lol but when he gave my my promise ring(about a month before we decided to get married, the promise ring was a 1 carat diamond ring, that became my engagement ring really) he put little notes all around his room saying how much he loves me and hid them and after each one was a clue to the next one and the last one said"now reach into my left pocket", and there was the ring.i was sooooooooooooooooooooooooo surprised, he still didint neccesarrily propose , cuz we just decided one day and so he says he owes me a proposal, we are celebrating our 8 month wedding anniversary this month.(L):bliss:lovestruck:smitten:, ohhhhhhhhh i love him sooooooo much.

DH proposed on webcam and phone from Japan Dec. 22nd of 2006 and it made for one of the most vivid memories of my life aside from our wedding. We got married when he came home on leave April 6, 2007. After he proposed he wanted us to shop for our rings online which we did and now have two of the most unique rings that we constantly get complimented on.

DJ and I were officially engaged on September 12, 2002.
It was coincidentally the same day he graduated from Corps School at Greak Lakes Naval Training Center in IL.
This is a picture of us right after his graduation...

The story of how we got engaged is somewhat amusing.

After graduation, everyone came home and took a nap. While I was sleeping, my sneaky husband went upstairs and made reservations at a wonderful restaurant called Luigi's in Naperville, IL. He also enlisted he help of my own mother in wrapping my "birthday" present.

Anyhow, we get to the restaurant and receive 5 star service. Now comes time for me to open my birthday present. First came the Navy window decal that I had wanted for my car ... and then came this lovely little golden carriage.

I fell in love with my little carriage! I thought it was adorable, and DJ always calls me his "Princess" so... I thought it was VERY fitting.

So my husband, being the sweetheart that he is, had come over and dropped to one knee beside me. Well, me being the dunce that I am, continued to play with my little carriage, telling me how much I loved it!

He was on one knee for probably a solid three minutes before he finally took it away from me and said, it opens. And if you open it, you'll find something else inside of it.

And then he proposed!

A family near us saw what was happening and took a picture for us!
And that is how my husband proposed to me.

...Later I came to find out that the entire restaurant staff knew what was going on! Everyone had watched us, the waiter and kitchen staff were poking their heads out of the kitchen and spying on us. They wound up bringing us dessert and champagne on the house!

(That's quoted from my website.)

Ok, so here's our incredibly romantic proposal story... DH had to get some medical waivers to get in to the Army. THe day that the last waiver came through, the recruiter called me, since DH was working nights and the phone never woke him. The recruiter said he would give me the fun of telling DH he had gotten in since the reruiter knew how hard I had been working to help DH get in. So anyway, I got home that night, and this is how it went:
"The recruiter called, you got in!"
"Really! Thank God!"
"Well, we need to get married before you leave for basic. I'll be a soldier's wife, not a soldier's girlfriend." (Long story)
"Well, I was going to ask you, but you're always so on top of things, I figured you were already working on getting the marriage license."
"I am"

:giggle That's how we roll :giggle

I wasn't.

That is one thing I wish dh would have done, but we talked about it and just agreed to be married. I don't even remember actually deciding, just looking at rings.
